Another day at the track

With BFB's new chip I managed to knock off another 2/10's in the 1/4 WAY TO GO BUBBA. I still can't get my 12 sec run but I feel ok about today’s run because I actually lost 2/10's on my usual 60 "due to the EXTRA HP”. Plus I finally got a better MPH at top end, and it seems my stuttering gremlin is finally gone at 3rd gear WOT. ABOUT ****** TIME. Another words mathematically speaking I got what it takes to get that 12 now. I believe if I can get my 1.8 60's back I'm there. I know lots of you have achieved 12's with less Mod's than I have but I INSIST on safe programs and I'll be there soon enough.

Unfortunately I don't know if my F-1's have another day at the track left in them (less than 6000 miles on them) they're bald and the spec dude took notice of them too. The numbers and tach clearly showed them spinning, even with 25 lbs of air in them. The track totally sucked and it took over two hours in the staging lane to get one run in. It was unbearably hot, extremely humid, and sunny as schitt which didn't help. I was the first to run after like 20 or 30 motorcycles and had no hot rubber to launch in, so I know that hurt me too. The second run was slower and hotter and that was due to another hour or so of idling, starting, and stopping in the dam staging lanes. I'm gonna try going next Friday afternoon when it's empty and see what happens.

I'm not making excuses just trying to convince myself not to be depressed about it. I watched 3 Brand New Mustang GT’S run terrible times. The best I saw was 14.8, isn't that terrible for GT's.
Schitt I expected at least hi 13's out of them, NOT ONE ?? This track is known for being slow and is actually scheduled to close down shortly so it's not exactly what I'd call in good shape anymore and they aren't repairing anything. My buddy’s big block Trans Am only ran a 14.3, and my neighbor who usually runs 8's with his Camaro was running 10's. It seemed to be an off day for everyone so I'm happy with today’s results, even know I still haven't got my 12 sec run.

BFB, I love your new program and want to personally THANK YOU AGAIN for all the Dyno work and long hours that went into it.
I don't know how you managed to keep it so safe while giving me another 2/10's, but the Dyno results don't lie. I know I can do like everyone else and just go ***** out with the timing and A/F but I still believe in tuning up and not breaking my only means of transportation. I have no pinging, no more stuttering, better MPH, and 2/10's better. "YOU DID GOOD, REAL GOOD"
THANK YOU TOO HOOTERS, I know you were involved too.

Congrats man!

But you should be well into the 12's with your mods. I ran a 13.1000 in my 99L with only my intake and chip (full weight + my fatass)

I think it is time for slicks, huh?

I'm just curious why you list 3:73's and 90mm MAF in your sig...........as they come stock on 01/02's

Just wondering because I met a guy on the track that bought 3:55's for his 00.........(wonder if he saw an 'improvement')

JBLsilver01,
I guess when I had no Mod's it gave me something to list
I should take that out. But I will say that I have read many post's
of people that installed 4.10's (or is it 11's on a Ford ?) and got slower. Sometimes I wonder if I should leave the overdrive on at the track. One of these days I'll finally go to the track without my 8yr old and I'll have time to cool down, mess with air pressure more, and try a few differant things. But I do know with our low end torque 3.55's don't sound bad, hmmmm....

Nice work Rob! Keep on pluggin'. I bow down to anybody runnin' those low 13s on F1s---much less, into the 12s. I surely couldn't do it, hence the M/Ts.

Here is my advice.

Call another tuner, tell them your mods, get a chip from someone that knows what they are doing, and get your freakin 12. sure does sound like the only thing you are missing is the proper tune. There is alot more to a chip program than timing and A/F's.

Not only will you do it safely, you will feel better.

Dam 12.6 Hu, THANKS FOR NOT EMBARRSSING ME TODAY

And thanks everyone else for the encoragement, maybe I'll give you a call Dave if I head out there Friday, all depends on Weather and Work.

Anyone got any "Cheap" slicks + rims for sale around my area ??

Here's what my F-1's looked like before the last two track trips.
Wish they looked that good now
