Razors Edge New upper Pulley

Razors Edge is please to announce our new interchangeable upper pulleys for the Lightning,Cobra and Harley. Our pulley kit includes a hub, two anodized pulleys which have had the belt surface oxide blasted to prevent belt slip, stainless steel mounting bolts (no rust here) and ribbed locking spring washers. The pulley diameters are 2.77 and 2.84

Looks good Paul. One question though........ With only about 145 rpm difference (at the blower) between the two pulleys @5000 rpm (w/ a stock lower pulley), how much boost difference is there between the two pulleys you're offering? With a 4# lower, the spin difference is only about 164 rpms.

Stock lower:

7.5 / 2.8 = 2.6785 (pulley ratio) x 5000 (rpms) = 13392.857 rpms
7.5 / 2.77 = 2.7076 (pulley ratio) x 5000 (rpms) = 13537.906 rpms

4# lower:

8.5 / 2.8 = 3.0357 (pulley ratio) x 5000 (rpms) = 15178.571 rpms
8.5 / 2.77 = 3.0686 (pulley ratio) x 5000 (rpms) = 15342.96 rpms

Wouldn't a 2.7 pulley have made more sense; or, was it just not possible? What are the benefits of a pulley that's only .03mm smaller? No flame intended, you've got a lot of good stuff. I just don't get this one.

well for one it would make much more sense if I owned a harley or a new cobra,, especially if we owned a new cobra,, as he says they are available for those vehicles as well.. But what about us L users,, tell us the benefits

Made a typo..sorry it's corrected pulley size is 2.84 which combined with stock L lower makes 1-2 lbs and the 2.77 makes 2-3lbs...remember the ratio is just a mathematical equation, air quality ie: temp, pressure and humidity affects how much boost is actually produced

2.8 must have been a type-o. It's 2.84 now.

That's a 333.7 rpm diff. at the blower @5000 rpms for stock lower and 378.2 rpm diff. with 4# lower.

Another type-o.... The larger pulley should be making less boost. .09mm is a more substantial size difference. This is a really good set-up for a Cobra. Great job REM.

How hard is the install and how much I have heard the upper can be a pain and really ruin your snout sometimes?

Hey Ally
Your right the install can be a pain in the behind sometimes however we have a pulley puller which we can lend to you or you can purchase (if you want one for your tool box) which makes the install a breeze
