Iam waiting for my warranty 3yr/36K miles, to run out before I start modifying mine. I think "stock" trucks are cool

Thanx for all the help guys, I guess that means no long tubes, since they make the truck so much louder i can't see them not visually checking to see that all smog reducing equipment is still intact. By the way, all of you that use your trucks for offroading convert your L to 4wd and get swamper tires and lift kits , just wondering .

Thanx,
Bill

OK, i've used the search and couldn't find adequate answers to my questions about the emissions legality of long tube headers. I live in St Louis, MO and we have the gateway clean air program run by the state for emissions testing not local grease shops like for our safety inspections like it used to be. Is CA the only state where a visual test with long tubes and high flow cats will fail you, since perfectly functioning cats were removed. I know some of you in CA say you passed with them on, but did they visually inpect or just mechanically. Any enlightenment anyone can bring to me would be helpful in my decision.

Thanx,
Bill
I'm from STL also. I have had no problems at all. They do not check for anything so don't worry. If you want to hear what long tubes, hi-flow cat and a Bassnia(sp) exhaust sounds like in person, let me know.

I used to be a smog inspector out in CA when they first mandated it.I care wheither mine meets it,due to the fact I am going to be the fastest street legal lightning. But the long tubes are not carb cert. But am still going to get it inspected out in CA when I show up for an open track to see how far off I am,even with the long tubes. Some of this stuff is bogus as far as what you can due.Stan

I feel if it still meets smog then so what!!
