I have to say that it was a blast, everyone there was great, got to put alot of faces to names, everyone was very generous,we were sworn to secrecy about what happened.I would like to personaly thank Fast Gator and Vinnie for hooking me up with food and drinks all day, thanks guys i owe ya.Evan even went so far as to ask us not to gloat so to speak on this board because of the fact that he had to turn people away for the shoot out and didnt want to upset anyone any further,he was very professional and a class act, sorry we cant give out any info but the article is supposed to be in the Feb issue!!

So.....I have already tried this with one of the "special people" to no avail...

But say that a bunch of trucks were to gather, and say they were to race, and suppose that some people had prior knowledge of some of the included participants, just suppose that were to happen? Who do you suppose would win?

C'monnn *whining* I'm dying here.

Well, they tried to run.......but it got rained out

And your welcome svt360

I don't even care what the results are, except I would like to see what the tuners ran.

I tried to go, but for some reason they didn't want my truck there, I guess I was to fast. So to me it was not a real shootout, if they wanted a real shootout they would have invited more fast trucks like myself.

I have lost all respect for MM&FF, but I am happy for all of those who were invited.

Just my $.02. Don't most people buy MM&FF for the whole mag. not just one article>??? I know whether or not I know how every1 did or not I am still gonna buy the mag. Even if we all know the ETs I am sure we all would still like to read the article and see the pics. I dunno just my opinion on the matter. -Mat-

Yes im just not posting any times after the shootout. Doug said "Since the time etc cant be posted from this event perhaps the participants need to go BACK to the track to back up their times and post those results." To me thats just like posting what was run at the shootout. So like i said you guys arent the only ones waiting we have to wait to to see what pics and stuff were used and how it will all be put together. It will be worth the wait .

Talking

These shootouts done by MM&FF have always been asked to be kept a secret and not posted on the internet...

Its been like that for years now with their Modular Shootout that they do...Last year, same thing, they asked us not to talk about the times of the mod cars, so we didn't...Its just common curtesy for all those involved...

The modular shootout is in a few weeks, Oct 17th, and you won't see the results posted any where either hehehehhe

If you have run 11's in the past and you dont have a rollbar, you werent invited, period.

It was a real shootout because real Lightnings showed up that really run good numbers that really have all the safety equipment that they are supposed to for their given ET's.

How would you have felt if you would have gone and had to detune your L Don? To make your truck run slower than it can is not what they wanted.

One more thing, I read somewhere that you "lifted" a head recently, is that true?

Vin - thats cool, I do want to know what you, Bruce and Vinnie ran. But I'd much rather see you guys in Fords @ Englishtown.

... and if you feel the need to post a time, just throw on some more mods that you will be running faster so the the shootout times will be outdated ...

... well at least it's an excuse for new mods

On a side note, we need to have a mini meet soon!

I thought I might have lifted a head, but it turned out to be a bad radiator cap or a bad thermostat, I changed them both moday and ran wednesday. Everything is ok.

I told Evan I could dial in and run low 12's. I was willing to do it. My street chip is about 2 tenths slower than my race chip, I would have run that. It gave me consistant 12.1-12.3 all year with the stock blower.
Also the Works blower is in Cali getting modded to get it to run better. So it would have been tough to run 11's anyways. I guess he didn't care

Also my track is IHRA so I am legal at my track. Plus they let JDM run and I don't think his roll bar is legal, since it has removeable rear bars.

Secret discussions at MM&FF's, "Let's have a gathering of some Lightnings so we can show how fast they are. We can't have too many running in the 11's because that wouldn't be fair to the mustang owners."

How could it be bad to show the times for Sal, Jim and Johnny?

First we all know what they've run in the past. I wouldn't expect the times to be that much different.

Secondly if the magazine is scheduled to come out in Febuary that means it will hit our mail boxes in January. I would think that there are alot of big egos on this board and not all of them will be able to keep bottled up for three months. Be patient....someone will break soon
