What would it take?

My friend is talking ***** that my truck will not beat his nova. I honeslty dont think it will in stock form but I want your guys opinions. All I know about it is that he is pushing around 430 horse and cant get traction on the street. Do you think I could smoke him with a 6lber, chip, and filter? I know with the new whipple I will smoke him but I want to know if I can now. Somehow, dont ask me how, I know that in a race to about 70 with me being in stock form he will only win by about half a car length. So what do you guys think?

Yo J15big,

I dont understand your post. Are you saying if you were stock or are you saying you are stock? What happened to the built motor and all the goodies you hooked up with? And whats with the post about fouling and misfiring spark plugs? Whats the skinny on your L? Inquiring minds want to know! So, please do tell.

I lost to him stock and want to know if i can beat him with a 6lber, chip and filter. I still have the built motor and monster box, but i dont really consider those performance mods because they dont really give u any power. About that spark plug post, i was just curious. A lot of people are saying the BR7s are too cold and I just want to know what to look for if they foul.

Cool man! So your running just the built motor and tranny with nothing else. I think you could take him. I'm running the TR6's with a very slight miss at idle and no miss with any sort of load on it. I'm calling Sal tomorrow when he gets back to schedule dyno time and a tune. Also to find out if I should go with the BR7's.

I think if you really want to smack that nova around..you should get an 8 lb pulley with your built motor.

Just so happens that there is a deal on a slightly used one in the classifieds
