Unhappy Sad news......

As of Sept. 23, 2002 I am no longer a lightning owner. I had to give up the truck for practicality reasons.

I will still be attending events and do the racing stuff when I can.

Hopefully one day I can get another one.

I only got $22,000 for her, and was because the dealer liked my truck. The dealer told me that these trucks are NOT rare anymore and take a steep depreciation like the other vehicles. I suggest to all of you that are considering a sale on your truck to do it now or it won't be worth crap. I tried to sell myself, but I couldn't even get a call.

Most of the parts went with her, but I do have a new flip chip I am selling for $200(maybe even lower).

Hopefully I will see all of around sometime.

I may be interested in the chip, and any other parts you may have. Email me at enetwerks@yahoo.com

Sorry to hear you had to sell.

Any limited vehicle is "more" rare than one that is not. However, they are building 5000+ Lightning's a year. The same w/ the Cobra, except they make quite a few more. A Cobra is still harder to find than your average car, therefore they do hold there value more. Don't let the dealer's fool you, you don't see a lot of used Lightning's around.

I do agree that today's cars will never make the collector status of a 60's Corvette or Mustang. They just build too many cars today, even limited vehicles.

Question

Just curious, did you try to hook up with Josh in Manasses?
His Wanted Classified has been out there since Sep 2nd.

Could have benefited both of you.

GOSH DARN IT KYLE! I told you to wash your hands and wear a condom!!!

Oops, sorry, wrong issue. Uhh. .err.

Sounds like you got a good deal. You had a really nice L with lot's-o-mods. Too bad but I think it's inevitable for all of us to keep our trucks. They can get expensive. I wish you luck my friend. Wish I were in Va with NVLOPE drinking Coronas and peeling shrimp.

22K for a 3 year old L is great! That's only $8,400 less than my brand new one WITH a full factory warranty. And the later L's have improvements like aluminum driveshaft, 3.73's and 90mm MAF.
I think you did OK, but next time remove every mod before you sell it, then sell the mods too.

Good luck!

They are for sale everywhere up here in Massas. You can find one one every street corner.

I think I did pretty well.

Not any svt dealers near me but I do have a dealer a few blocks away who usually has 2-3 on the lot at a time..at least one. Went to test drive and look at one after my wreck because they were gonna total my truck. I couldnt get them below 28900 and that was with a 22000 dollar cash down payment! I dealt with the sales manager and he was askin 29900 and refused to go any lower even when I walked off the lot.
