I recently joined the list, and found a wealth of information by searching through various topics. This is a diverse, but extremely loyal group of enthusiasts on this list.

 

I also have a new 2002, bought in May; love it to death!

First thign to do is order a set of Herb's "Clunk Washers" and get them install so your front tire doesn't wear excessively and you don't have that embarrassing "clunk" sound when you back up.

Spend some time here and you'l get lots of additional info on upkeep and mods.

 

Welcome SilverStreak, love the name and the movie!

My advice to you is drive it like you stole it and have fun. Anything you want to know about a Lightning is right here, look no further.

I also just got a new 2002...got it the end of August. It's my second L....hey, if you go back for seconds then it must be good.

Lightnings rock man. I had never had so much fun in a vehicle since I got it. Except for dumping the clutch in a friends WRX at 5,000RPM. But these trucks are great. Wait till you start with the mods then you will just say...."WoW." Goodluck. -Mat-

Another question. I notice that alot of L owners have the build number (xxxx of yyyy) How do I find mine.

 

You can call SVT @ 1-800-FORD-SVT and tell them your VIN# and they can tell you. -Mat-
