NMRA World Finals
NMRA Word Finals
Just got back about and hr ago. What a show. I would guess 14 Gen 2 Lightnings (could be more or less) Probably 10 were running. 3 or 4 in the show. Somebody did an awesome burnout. Have pics.
Picked up many speed parts. No tax, no shipping! Hmm wonder what I'm going to do tomorrow!
I have to say though. We need more organization. I would have loved to talk with other L owners. I did some, but not many considering how many were there. Let me try again. Many many people there. Would I know that you have an L by looking at you? No. And everybody was parked at random.
Any thoughts?

Certainly not everyone that was there reads or knows about
this place. Most of the ones that do, stopped by the vendors
tents and said "HI". There were a lot of faces that finally got
put together with "aliases" here, I tell ya! That Beefcake is
one BIG dude!!
As messed up as everything was, it was a miracle that it
went as well as it did. A lot of us spent two and a half
hours in Tech on Friday and didn't make a pass. This even
after waiting for over one and a half hours to get in the gate.
If anything it was TOO successful in my opinion. But nobody
seemed to have any answers to the questions we were asking
in the staging lanes. The "brackets" were 1/8 mile which was
a disappointment to me. I thought at least fo rthe NMRA
it would be a 1/4, but hte brackets were run by the local track,
not the NMRA, so they kept it at 1/8 cause that way the locals
were tuned and geared for it. Funny thing is that on Saturday
the "Bracket" time trials were 1/4 mile slips. I dunno, it was
bizarre.
The partying Saturday night was pretty cool though, and there
were some AWSOME Mustangs and Lightnings there. The total
cars entered was the largest ever I think.
Drag racing on a fall day in Kentucky!! It just doesn't get any better!

If you came by the Toyo or Metco booths you would have seen the sharpest Lightnings and Harley truck around!

Thanks to Ron and Aaron for the hospitality and a big thanks to the guys at Toyo!

Cliff,
I am the one that was at Clay City, and showed you the list of mods that I was getting in Bowling Green, just so that you can put a face on air1kdf. I missed the partying Sat night. We hung around for a while.
I went to the Toyo tent, they were busy putting a banner on the red L. That was a nice cowl hood. Real smooth. The name is on the tip of my tongue.
I guess that I'll have to make a T-shirt that has my lightning on it. So that fellow owners don't think that I am just a normal druler.
I installed my ram air and traction bars, first installed mods so far. I must say, I like it!
The hop is completely gone, and hooks up great. Also those 12" air filters REALLY make the SC wine shine through.
