Another bad day at the track :o(

Two more Schitt Runs at the track today. The Traction Control Springs got me a tenth better in the 60, but I still have no top end speed and without it, I will never enter the 12's. The truck outright gives up at 5000 RPM and falls flat on it's face. WTF ??? I'm still using my mild street tune. Which "WAS" my all around Winter/Summer/Race/Commute/ Program. This Chip is extremly mild and safe and was used to break in my truck.
Next weekend I step it up, with my Delta Chip and two aggresive programs to try. I'm still extremly upset with my times and expected much more with my Mod's. DONT PAY ATTENTION TO REACTION TIMES, I will not even consider cutting a good light "yet". I will once I have a time I can be proud of.

Hellwig $59.00 Traction Control Springs. Took 1/10th off my 60

Tires almost 6,000 miles don't think they'll make 7K

Rob,Looks like your 60 ft's are pretty good for F-1s,And your 1/8th mi MPH and E.T. look good.Just no top end MPH??
Maybe just a more aggressive tune with an option for Race Gas?

Might need to check fuel pressure at the top of 3rd gear and you could tap your exhaust system and check for excess back pressure. With a 4lb X 2lb setup it should run better than a 100 mph. Dale

I dont mean to sound like an a$$ but no they are not, he should be a lot faster with those mods, i pulled a 12.9 with a 3#, chip and air kit in 85 degree weather with decent humidity, i think u should just get a more agressive chip, best of luck to you.

Something is definitely wrong man. You're cutting some decent 60' times, I think you had a 1.8xx in there, so take off doesn't seem to be your problem...............However 101 MPH 1/4 miles with your mods indicates some serious top end problems..........there's gotta be some starvation or something up on the high end.................definitely need to step it up on the chip.

Good luck man....................jC

Your losing time during the whole 1/4 mile, not just in the top end.

Your 1/8th mile times are not that good either.

There is a 02 running around here that goes consistant 13.10's @105 with just a 4lb lower and Chip,(a single program chip that isnt that aggresive).

I doubt there is anything physically wrong with your truck, considering that it is basically brand new, so I would rule that out.

Was your "tuner" telling you that he gave you a safe program to break the truck in or was that what you asked for? because to tell you the truth, why the hell would you complain about your 1/4 mile times if you new you were gonna be slow because you asked for or were given a weak chip?

Have you had the truck dynoe'd to see the A/F's?

I hope you do better with your Delta chip. Good luck. G

Rob,

I think you are on the right Track, Nice 60 fts on F1s.

I sugest some Hoosier Drag Radials along with your new chip, think it is cheaper to use them up at strip than f1s. When you go to your new chip, hopefully you will be making more power, harder to launch.

It's your tune. Plain and simple, you'e cut 1.80's on F1's ( good job) after that, it's all in the truck, you don't do anything. You really need a more aggressive tune. Looks as if you have the super safe version.

FWIW, I've run 8.0's in the 1/8th with mid 1.80's on F1's. You should be too.

My Tuner gave me "exactly what I asked for" and it was the differance of night and day compaired to my previous 3 programs I had from someone else. A POSITIVE GOOD DIFFERENCE

I guess I just assumed if I could cut a good 60, my 12 sec run would come automatically because of my Mod's, "no matter how mild a tune I asked for". I WAS WRONG. But my theroy has always been to tune up and be safe.

I really got to work on my patience, I DONT LIKE WAITING FOR NOTHING. Next week will tell the story.

To be continued.....

Did you take your previous 3 programs to the track?

According to your sig you have a "BFB" tuned Diablo chip? I have never heard of him and I think maybe you should talk to someone that has been around for awhile and knows what they are doing. Just my .02

Im Saying for "Him" it will be easer to break 12's on slick's then ont he F1's he's only had is L for a few months..... Im shure he can do it on the Goodyears just saying it would be a bit easer so he doesnt have to launch the truck so softly......

Something is wrong with your truck. You really need to get it checked out. I ran 14.2 stock at 96MPH at 87Deg F and 90% humidity. Your top end is only 4MPH faster than stock, even though your ~.8 seconds faster. It can only be 2 things. Fuel (too much or too little) or your timing, which I doubt because of your 60 ft. A air fuel ratio gauge, and a fuel pressure gauge will help you solve the problem (process of elimination).

I just know that somebody will flame me about the AF ratio gauge will be inaccurate. I say BS. The stock O2 sensor is pretty good, and you will be "close" as far as the reading. Remember that he's not tuning chips, he needs to see if fuel is present.
