I was talking to one of the head sales people at a local dealership and I told him my story about the truck blowing up. I also told him how much I payed for the truck and wanted to see what he thought about the price I payed. He asked if I bougt an extended warrenty and I did. Then he asked if I had got my money back from the warrenty. I looked at him confused. He said since your warrenty is voided, there is no point in keeping the extended warrenty. He said there should be a number to call on the back of your paper work from when you bought the truck and they can get you your refund. Is this true? I have looked for my paperwork but am having trouble finding it, does anyone have this number that I am supposed to call? I think I payed something like $3000 for the extended warrenty, so if I can get that money back, I will get the whipple early.

Yes you should get a refund for your warranty. When my wife sold her Dodge before the extended warranty period kicked in, I called up the Dodge warranty department and cancelled the extended warranty. They then sent me a refund in the mail a few weeks later.

 

i cancelled mine before the extended warrenty kicked in.
i was expecting a check back, but it was just applied to my truck loan since it was rolled into the payments in the first place, also it was not for the full amount, i was given a reason the the lesser amount but i cant recall now..

they won't refund the whole amount, they pro-rate it. I cancelled my aftermarket expensive warranty and got a deal on a Ford one. They sent most of my money back though. Did you get it thru Ford ESP? If so I will look for a number on my policy.

My policy says I have to write a letter to the dealer to cancel.It is the ford 6 year 100,000 mile.

Yep, I got mine back too. Once I started modding it I decided that I would never take any mods off for warranty work and canceled it. Go to your dealer, that's who took care of it for me.

Yeah, I got the for ESP. If you could find that number for me that would be great. I went onto the ford website and found some useful info. It said I have to write a letter, like vinnie said. The dealership I bought the truck from went out of business so I cant go back to them. There is a bunch of info you have to send them in the letter and the only thing I dont know is my "cancellation effective date?" Anyone know exactly there asking for? Is that when my extended warrenty ends??

This is the day you want it stoped. As in "09/29/2002" which would be today, or "EFECTIVE IMMEDIATLY" works too.
