If anyone here has installed an autologic flip chip on their "L" and could help me out with how he hard wired to the switch, I'd appreciate an e-mail (jkbrand@mesanetworks.net)
I bought mine second hand, had it reburned, but got no wiring diagram. Two wires have connector ends (I'm sure each is for one of the two programs). There are two other black wires that have no connectors. What goes where?
Thanks,
Jeff

You should talk to the person who reburned it. But if it really has 2 programs and the connectors are spade connectors you just need to but a SPST ( single pole single throw ) switch. When the wire are connected it is one program when they arent it is another.

>>Unless there was a switch included with the chip you only have one program on it.
There are two programs on it.
>>The tuners include a switch if there are multiple programs already wired etc.
Not always, apparently--especially if it's a used chip not originally purchased from the tuner.
>>just need to but a SPST ( single pole single throw ) switch. When the wire are connected it is one program when they arent it is another.
I'm not challenging the last half of that, but I'm not sure thatt's true (connecting the two wires invokes the second program), which is why I'm asking for wiring info.

I was hoping so, too, but it's been over a week since e-mailing him and I've heard nothing back. Called, and he's out til mid- next week. (I'm not trying to be impatient, but I'd kinda like to find out something before then.)

Wire 1 connects to nothing for 1st program
Wire 1 connects to wire 2 for second program
Wire 1 connects to wire 3 for third program
Wire 1 connects to wire 4 for 4th program
A Superchip flip chip uses simpler switch and just 2 wires. With 2 wires there are only 2 possible combinations Open and short....
Open ( disconnected is one program and short ( connected ) is another program
A super chip flip chip has 2 wires and a DPST switch. It only uses one side of the switch. So in one postion the wires are connected in the other they are disconnected.
There are not many ways to complicate this arrangement but Im sure when Sal gets back online he will clarify if I have misstated anything

You should have 4 wires coming out of the chip, 3 black and one red, mated into two black wires.
Of the two black wires one will have 3-4 ridges in it while the other is smooth. The Red wire from the chip is tied into the smoothe black wire with the spade on it. It plugs into the end of any SPST switch and the other black wire with the ridges in it plugs into the center pole of the SPST switch. Now you have a two program flip switch with off being a street side and on being a race side.
Best I can do bud.
