Question on wiring up e-fan

Where did you tap into the AC so the fan kicks on with the compresssor? I tapped into the clutch, but now the fan turns on and off with the clutch, which doesn't seem right??

Mine is hooked into the power distribution box under the hood. I will take a picture and post it tonight.

The tap shown for the A/C for the JDM fan kit is a ground tap, not power. Just be careful how you are installing the realy.

Switching a negative on the compressor should be easy. I'll go try switching my relay wires.

StruckBy99,

Where are you picking up the power for the relay then?

You can use the ground tap shown in the JDM instructions. You just have to wire the relay like this................

Cool

The gray wire with the white stripe off of the AC clutch relay 204 (look in your owners manual for the location of the relay) . The wire is under the bottom of the fuse box which is under the hood on the drivers side.

Figured it all out....I feel like an a$$

I had everything hooked up correctly the first time, but when I was trying it, the ac clutch would kick on and off. Well, apparently it does that when the truck is cold. After I let the truck get to normal op temp, the clutch stayed on, and everything worked great! Little rework for a lesson learned

Fan works great too.

Loosebolt,

What kind of fan did you get? Where? How much?

I got the permacool fan from Jegs...it was just over $100. Install was fairly easy. I modified the shroud so it would fit a little better and wired the fan to go on with the sensor, on with the AC and a manual toggle, too. The sensor is defective, but the fan seems to do a nice job so far.
