Question for Don's Bolt,Noelvm or other Hoosier users

Hey guys,I took the plunge and picked up some 28x10x16 Hoosiers.Mounted on 16x10 alloys.I have been told it isn't necessary to "cure" the Hoosiers like I had to with my ET Streets.
Correct?
What air pressure are you guys running [cold]?
My local track is not prepped very well,What will be my best launch technique?Had to "roll" into it with the ET Streets.Avg 60' was in the 1.90-1.95 range
Will I be able to hold it to about 1500rpm and just "stand on it"?
Hard tonneau on or off?Tailgate on off or down?
With previous mods I was right at the 400/500 mark.I'm also adding a Powercooler before I go to the track tonite.
Sorry for all the questions.I did search and picked up bits and pieces.
Figured i'd go to the guys who have had the most sucess with this set-up.Thanks for any input!-Dave.

I run those tire on my ride and they work good, on the test N tune days when there is no track prep. I launch at 1500rpms and lay into the throtle preatty good. Now for tire pressure don't go below 13.5 PSI when the tires are cool for when the tires are warm I try to keep the presure around 14 PSI as you make passes the tire presure will increase so you will have to adjust it to keep optimum presure. Now you will want to bring a pump with you or air tank cause if you have a long cool of time the presure will drop down fairly low if you keep adjusting the presure between passes. I have tried lower PSI than 13.5 but the tires start to cup and loose traction. As for a break in Hoosier says to do a longer than normal burnout and they should be good. And for a burnout for every run all you need to do is a light burnout and roll the truck forward as you do this and this will scrub the rubber off and keep it from sticking to the tires which can cause you to loose traction if it builds up on the tires. I have had some 1.7x 60ft times and I always run with the tail gate off and no tonnu cover.
Good Luck

Hey Dave

I run mine at 17psi, thats what Jim at JDM told me to run, and it works great at that psi.

I don't know what you have for a setup on your truck

I have a Precision Industry 2400 stall torque converter, and I launch at 1800 rpms. I run mine with no tailgate, or spare tire, but leave my factory soft toneau cover on. I race right around 4600 lbs with me in the truck.

You will have to experiment a little to find what rpm you can launch them at, since no two tracks are alike. When I have run the slick the track prep has been pritty good so I was able to hammer the gas pedal off the line.

I noticed that the tires seemed to work better after about 2 runs, but were still real good the first run.
