what kind of camaro

well i was out giving my friend a ride in the beast and then all of a sudden a camaro with orange racing strips comes next to me. i was like to my friend ill show u really power. when the light turned green i floored it and then bye bye camaro my friend was amazed how bad i spanked him. and stared to laugh. i asked my friend what kind it was and he said on the side it said z28. so i was wondering if it was just a z28 or if is something else??? how can u tell if it was an Ls1 it had exhaust for sure and the orange racing strips anyways i was happy hehe
later and take care

Unless they changed the fascia, the LS1 will have the "wider grill".... don't know how else to explain it. The front looks different. The older Camaros had the LT1.
If it said Z28, it probably was. Expecially if it had the deep exhaust. If it sounded kind of loud and ricey, it was a V6 with exhaust.

I don't know about you, but when I listen to the new z28 exhausts I can't hear a damn thing! All I hear is engine (not very loud anyways), but no exahust.......It seems that after 96 they tuned the exhaust down, but if you throw a flowmaster on one of those..........its damn loud!

The LS1 has rounder headlights the LT1 has square. If it was white with square headlights and orange stripes it could have been the 30th anniversary?

I believe that the 30th anniversary had red stripes not orange......I could be wrong though, they may have offered them in orange also.

SVTJer is right. It's a 1997 30th anniversery Z28. 1997 has the LT1.....275hp/300tq. I beat my friends 95 Z28 when he's on motor, he has full exhaust and intake and nitrous, but he beats me with the N20.....
