Buying a L, rust? please check these pics
well its sounding promising, I was thinking that it wasnt going to be a HUGE problem. Seems to me a little elbow grease and sealant should do the job. If I cant do it perfect Ill just have to pay someone I guess. Either way the price is good and the saved money can compensate.
Well good luck with your purchase. If you want to stop over in Jersey on your way home, I live 10 minutes off 95/NJ Turnpike, and could put you up for the night. Email if you want the info
wow, thanks for the offers, very nice of you guys. The only problem is I think this guy is yanken my chain a bit. The last e-mail he sent me was real shady sounding, like he was nervous about me coming to see it. Im going to have report done on his vin number and see if anything is up that I dont know. If I lose this deal anyone know where I could pic up a black L? white is probably ok too, I havent had to0 much luck looking locally here in florida. Its a definite that Im buying one, just gotta find one!
update on the L in michigan:
I told the guy I was going to run the vin and check out his car fax report and such. Come to find out the thing has had its bumper, left wheel/tire,and fender replaced. Screw that, chickenears was right on the money when he said run and dont look back. So the quest for my L continues... I have been offerd a 01 red L with a BT 3/4 drop and some 20" neepers on it for a good price. Im not sure he will sell it until the winter is over though, but he hasnt answerd that part of my e-mail yet.
Thing only has 12.5k miles and has no mods so thats a plus. This is finding a nice L is a pain in the *** , Im sure it will be worth it though.

WTF is this! In what way have I kept any information about my truck from you. I received a ton of responses about the truck where I would send out the truck's history. If I was trying to keep this information from you, why would I send it to you before you gave me any commitment. If I was trying to screw you, I would have waited for you to fly here to Detroit from Florida inn hopes that you wouldn't find any clues of the accident and drive away none the wiser. My mistake was that I thought I had already sent you the truck's history before the string of emails I post below; once I found out that you didn't get this information, along with one other guy, I IMMEDIATELY sent you an email with everything you would need to know to make an informed decision. I never withheld my VIN from you. In fact, if anyone were to run a Carfax on my VIN 2FTZF07351CA45516 you would find nothing!!! Southgate Ford may have not sent anything to Carfax or the lag time from incident to appearing in their database is still in effect. You didn't run my VIN, you only gave information I provided you about my truck to make me look bad here on this board. There are some here that know my name and handle; and, if they were to read this post, they might think I was a scammer or something. It's bad enough that my truck got poked by some stupid bitch that can't see the hand in front of her freakin' face; but, what's worse is that you would make this story up about me. Personally, you can just kiss my ***. I have no idea why you would skew the story as you have. But, I know one thing, you aren't going to get away with it. For those that are interested, here are copies of the emails I sent to Pennywise_88 so you can make an informed decision:
P.S. I have lost the other guys email address to send the same info I sent Pennywise_88. His email was something with an SST in part of the emai address. If you happen to read this post, then, I guess you know the story now.

Yes, the truck is still available. The two possible sales fell through because they couldn't get financing. I don't have any pics of the inside; but, trust me, the seats, and interior are in the same condition as when I bought it other than the mats being kind of dirty. Here is a picture of the truck from the outside:

There are no dents, bad swirls or scratches. All I can say is that the truck was used for one winter here in Michigan. I'm sure it doesn't look like a truck that's been through one Florida winter, though. Here's some information your bank may need to payoff the loan I have with Wells Fargo, if you want the truck.
I just spoke with a car hauling service that was in my Yellow Pages; the price is approximately $698.00 insured from my door to your location in Florida. If you were to use this company, you will need to choose what form of transportion you want i.e. a personal driver or by truck hauler; the price is the same. Here is the number to Wells Fargo. If you want the truck, you could make the transaction quick by having them send the funds to the route number below and pay on my loan account number to satisfy it. Whatever you decision, please contact me to say either way.

I'm very sorry, but it seems with all the responces I've been getting for the truck, I didn't include the trucks history in a couple of emails I sent out. You are one of those I neglected to send this information to. I am very sorry about that. I am emailing two other prospective buyers with the same information. It was simply a mistake.
Here are the details of my truck. Please read carefully. I live just south of Detroit in the city of Lincoln Park. I bought my truck brand new from Southgate Ford in Southgate, Michigan. I am not selling this truck because of any existing problems; it is an awsome truck that runs perfectly and has no issues. I have never abused it in the sense that the truck could be damaged. I have taken it to Milan Dragway a few times. It's never been curbed or treated badly. It was, howerver, involved in a fender-bender about 4 months ago. The bumper, grill and hood were replaced along with a tire that was cut from the bumper. They gave me a new wheel as well because resulting from rolling it on bare pavement. All damage was entirely cosmetic. I have had the hood wetsanded by one of the best in the state and it shines like glass. The truck sounds, feels, rolls, tracks perfectly. I would not try to decieve anyone about this. I understand if you lose interest. If you decide to pass, please just send a quick email.
Sincerely
Gene Berry

dude, 1st off I never gave out your name or handle (or vin), so right off the bat your wrong about me trying to make you "look bad". I just plain wouldnt do that to anyone (especially not a member, I have been here to long for anything like that), whether you believe me or not. I would have never entertained the thought of buying it after I recieved the e-mail telling me all about the accident. And if you run the vin on carfax.com you will see 2 incidents show up. So yes I did run the number before you told me (just like i have with every truck I have looked at), was I willing to pay the fee to see what the incidents were? nope, the simple fact it had any was enough to deture me. Then you came along (which I DID APRECIATE) with the details of the incident. Everything I said was true,
1. I did tell you I was going to run your vin, and found incidents (did not tell him what I found)
2. You did then afterward send me the details of your accident
(which was a good thing and was apreciated)
3. Your other e-mails were quite short and the last one (before all this bs)was rude and showed how impatient you were being. That to me is shady. Not shady in the sense you were lying about it but that you were acting weird. which you defnintly were.
So sorry if my shortend version of the story pissed you off. I never meant to imply you were "crooked" or something, you didnt withhold anything I asked about and were quite good with getting me the pictures I needed of the underside. So sorry for any confusion, but you were better off not attaching your name and vin to this thread. but oh well...cant help that now
I invite everyone to use www.carfax.com and see that it does indeed show 2 reports

I wouldn't be too worried about reports.
Pennywise_88,
Just because a Carfax comes up as showing a certain vehicle has "Reports" on it, doesn't mean much. Most of the time it's title changes or something like that. I looked up the reports for this Lightning and this is what it says:
The CARFAX database contains a total of 2 vehicle history records on this 2001 FORD F150 SVT LIGHTNING (2FTZF07351CA45516):
