I just purchased a 2000 lightning yesterday and I was wondering where I find the build #? BTW the truck only has 18,000 on it and it does not have a scratch or dent anywhere. I got a red one. I'll post pictures at a later date. This is a great site!!! I

The build number does not appear on the truck. Call 1-800-FORD-SVT, and give them your VIN, and they will tell you your build number. You can also request the certificate for the truck, which has the VIN, build number, and build date on it.

 

to get the certificate, just fax a copy of your ins card or registration card to svt and they will send you the certificate.
