Ford Radio Removal Tool Info

For anyone like me who can't run down to the nearest full service electronics store, here's where you can get the DIN tool to remove the stereo head in your lightning.

Valco-Tronics
800-673-2244

Cost was $4, but cost me $31 shipping two day air. But I do have my Clarion Sub installed now.

Thumbs up

Cut up a coat hanger into 4 pieces about 6 inches long per piece, stick it in the hole, draw inward, giggle the deck out.

Autozone carries them for $3.99 if that helps anybody. The tools I bought from Autozone have a barb on the end like an arrow head.

I tried the nail/screw/coat hanger routine without luck. Had I known where to find them I would've bought one to start with.:o

Yes a hanger will work. I used a nice metal dry cleaner's hanger. I cut it into 2- - 8" pieces then mad a u shape and insert into the holes wiggle a little and bam its out. Just don't dont put it in to far about 1.5 in should do it

Slick

Yup, I used a hanger as well. Use one of the heavier ones, not the flimpsy dry cleaner hangers. Cut it into 2 pieces about 6" long and bend it to fit into the two holes on ech side. Insert each hole about 1", push OUTWARD slightly, and start wiggling, you'll find the sweet spot pretty quick and will feel it release. very easy after you do it one time.
