Curious? How many people actually know the a/f and timing in their chips programs?

After seeing the millions of chip threads, i would be curious to know how many people know exactly what their chip is doing?

i'm talking about at WOT where it really matters

i bet out of the hundreds to thousands of the guys on here, there may be 30

i have a flip chip

program 1 - street - timing=17, a/f=11.55
program 2 - race - timing=20, a/f=11.44
program 3 - cold weather - timing=14, a/f=11.55

Have you actually autotapped your L to know the timing? Is the info you provided what you have observed or what the tunner said?I know what my timing is and a/f. I have never heard of a 3 program flip chip...You are right though as to most L owners don't know or maybe even care what the critical data is on their chip. They most likely might not even understand all the parameters...It is a good thing to know...By the way anyone know what stock timing is on a Lightning?

trust me, i know whats going on

thats how i know the LT's are worthless, because all the parameter were checked to make sure everything was the same before and after the LT's and they didn't give barely anything

i shouldn't say nothing as i got 5hp 10ft/lbs

but thats another thread

Just asked how you knew Some people do not check their engines and solely really on what they are told...It's very hard to get a mail order chip right on the money for what you want...Sometimes and I stress sometimes people are told something about their chip and for some reason the chip does not do what it should..

Mine is pig rich and very mild timing just as I requested. Ran it 4 times to 120 with Scantool and horriba A/F before tune was finalized

Jeff, I've tuned Beef's truck in person, that's how he knows . When I checked his A/F in person, the programs he got from me via mail order were dead on where I wanted them to be. We made a few tweaks, playing with different programs and seeing how the truck liked the changes, over the course of the weekend at one of the NMRA events.

What do you use? Diagnostic software on a laptop, or an actual scan tool?
