Quick question about Traction Bars

Only mods are chip and filter. Thinking about traction bars and later get the 4 pounder. Will traction bars really help my times? If so, how much? I will be running with the stock f1's. Thanks

Johnny,

The WILL help some but the main advantage is protection from a broken driveshaft. Nobody wants to go polevaulting down the track or street.

Jay's Truk tracks are what I use and love them. Nice and quiet, with a 30 minute install time.

Its all in what you want....

I have had a few(3) sets of bars on my truck and I like the Caltracs best.....

BUT.... The TRUCK TRAKS are the best overall use ones, and best prices ones....

You can get either of these from the link in my signature. You want a adjustable setup for sure. Locked in place ones DO NOT work as well....

ICULOKN,
Do you have to drill into the frame to install Caltracs? What about NVH? Any clunk or vibration from them driving on the street?

I was leaning toward the Metco's. I'm trying to avoid drilling into the frame. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

Are traction bar's more for if you run slicks? Or is it possible to get axle rap with the stock tires? I don't know much about tractions bars...

Caltracs dont require frame drilling but they do make you change out the front eyelets of the leaf springs.

If your looking for a simple install, get the TRUCK TRAKS....

Truck-Traks were designed to bolt on easily, and be comfortable for everyday driving. I've had mine on my truck for 38,000 miles. I have never even had to adjust or tighten them.

They work very well with slicks, as well as the stock F-1's.

Truck Tracks

I use a pinion snubber and spring clamps myself, but I have used leave spring slapper type bars on other vehicles. They are quiet and they work well. A snubber is good too but you more than likely will have to change adjustment for everyday driving and racing. I found a decent middle of the road setting but I still have to be caerfull over large bumps. I figure in the long run I will probably get a set of Jay's bars. But like everyone else said, it will help keep your driveshaft from breaking, and of course to capture it if it DOES break, I'm sure you have a drive shaft loop, right? Safety First!
