From what I read on another thread that if you have the hiss when you hit the throttle the T/B is not perfectly lined up with the upper plenum.
I just put mine on and I got a hiss.Tomorrow I am going to try to adjust it and see if this is true.

I dont think that the T/B isnt aligned when you get that Hiss i think its normal. I have had the SVO and Currently my Babolt T/B's on my truck and both have had the hiss. The Babolt was installed once by Sal and then again by Jim from JDM and both times still had the Hiss. So im guessing that they would know best of all how to line up a T/B.

I dont know about the hissing being gone when you turn off the engine now. Mine hisses even more with it but i like it . Im guessing its just any air that was caught in the intake that wasnt used escaping. But i think both Hisses sound pretty sweet .

Explain lining up the TB.. You slap on the gasket, torque the bolts. You really dont have control of alignment unless the TB has a lot of play. Whats up?

That was the only part changed between dyno trips. I did already have a BABolt T/B. Do your self a faver and match port your T/B to the new intake. Then make sure the T/B is aligned and tightened before you install the upper. If you put the upper on first it is very hard to properly align the T/B. If you have a single blade T/B and you hear that little whistle at part throttle, you are not aligned.

And while you're at it, dremel out the intake plenum, then gasket match the T/B to the plenum.

A little more then that. Were the T/B connects to the intake plenum there is a little bit of play, same thing with the Plenum to the blower. On my plenum to blower I have about 1 or 2 cm's of play in any direction. If both openings are the same size, they must be lined up exactly, or there will be a ledge which could cause airflow problems. I believe my stock T/B had about the same amount of play in it.

Before I start port matching anything I am going to be making dowlings to remove all play in the T/B to plenum and plenum to blower. That way when I port match everything it will make lining back up much easier.

edit for spelling and grammer

Empty is ok if the ears and eyes work.

I've added a photo of a single bore throttle body on a bone stock inlet adapter. You can see the lip that exists, this material can be removed by a simple porting.
