Time Loss On a Hot Pass?
Time Loss On a Hot Pass?
Does anyone know what kind of time you would lose by running the quarter after driving for a half an hour? That is about how long it takes to get out of town to a safe place. There is a trans am wanting to run. Kind of want to know if I should get there early. Know it will be slower without a cool down, but wondering how much.

I went to the track on friday night, takes an hour to get there. I blasted the beast down the track right when i got there and went 13.19, i let it sit for just about 2 hours with some ice on the blower and went 12.9. In the owners guide it says cool down time is 4 hours, but try driving to the track and standing around for 4 hours and not racing, its impossible!!!
12.90's hot from the trip (40 miles) to my local track, I try to make two (2) runs before eliminations, one (1) in each lane, spaced an hour apart, and usually run 12.75 to 12.85 with an hour between.
Left it set 1 1/2 hours before eliminations two weeks ago, dialed in at 12.84, and damn if it didn't go 12.71. Which turned out okay as the other lane red lighted so I had a free pass.
Yes, hot lapping is going right back into the lanes when you complete a pass.
