13th only because number 12 and 11 had a better MPH "BUT NOT A BETTER ET". I think the fact that there are only 10 VEHICLES you can buy with a faster ET than a Lightning says a lot about a 5,000 LB Truck.

Nice Article! But I didn't think the SS and the Firebird were that fast???? Also, do any of you guys run the 1/4 in 3rd gear. Just curious to see if it is faster that way.

 

Yep, that sure is outdated.
Now you have a more powerful Lightning and look at the '03 Cobra. That should jump up to the top few I imagine.
But, I think the Viper will still be king with the '03 SRT-10 rated at 500 horsepower now since they stroked their 488 c.i. to 505 c.i.
My dad and I co-own a '01 GTS Viper and I am not really impressed by the acceleration though. Maybe it just even hasn't been broken in yet with only 1,300 miles on the odo.
