About the morning engine noise

I have a 02 lightning, after the first oil change it made the noise that everybody seems to have What i was wondering is when does your noise start? Mines like this..........

when first started it on high idle for about 1-2 minutes .NO NOISE
when the idle comes down to around 7-800 rpm .THE NOISE is there. When I rev it up to say around 1500 rpm or better it goes away or fades out untill it comes back to idle again. When it warms up to normal temp its gone or I think it is! Untill I shut it down for an hour or so then restart then it's back untill temp is up.

My Question is. Could this be the slap or camchain tapping against the case untill heat gets it. When cold and on high idle it doesnt do it because chain is stiff and oil is cold, untill idle comes down and oil is thrown off the chain? Is this possible? I know what piston slap sounds like, I owned a 01 GMC with a 5.3. Thats what I got rid of for this truck. Now that had piston slap.

Thanks

Bob

Lucky Me

Guess I'm lucky not ever experiencing the marbles in a can syndrome. But I know what you guys are talking about.

It is your Cam Followers my first motor never made and noise on cold starts, this new motor sounds like marbles in a can but goes away after the temp guage comes up.

About 6 weeks ago I took my 02L to the dealer complaining about the same thing. They replaced the SC and the pullies. So far it seems to have fixed the problem. The engine is as quite as can be. Until you put your foot in it and the SC whines! BTW, it had about 6800 miles on it at that time.
