On a 2000L, CUX2, When you swap to 3.73 gears, do you have to reburn the chip or can you have the local dealer change the setting with their NGS scan tool and leave the chip alone??

I've tried to change it with the NGS, but it doesn't work. It does give you the option of 3.55 or 3.73 for an 00 truck (because 3.73s were supposed to be an option on the 00) but when you try to actually change it, it gives you a big warning and then doesn't allow it. If you've got a chip, I'd just have it corrected.
