Two tt Supras at strip and i was not impressed

I was happy to see that with 250 + cars at t&t tonight that fate would have me line up with a Supra tt instead of a car with a parachute

But this guy could not drive worth a schitt and drove right threw the tree when staging.
Any way, when he finnally got staged and my tires were no longer heated from the 5 second burnout,i was less than impressed with his 14.27@102.

Then he pointed to another Supra tt,that had aftermarket turbos and ran 12.80's i am even less impressed.

I thought these things were quicker than 14's and were reasonably cheap to mod to high boost levels?

These tt Supras cost how much

Joe, i only got three runs in all night at Martin..they were 12.24,12.28 and 12.37 all at 109-110 with 60's 1.75,1.75 and 1.81

All runs were against people who took forever and a day to line up...rendering my 5 second burnouts useless

There is a lot of talk about this track needing to season among the regulars before it reaches it's full hooking potential.

I might try a 10# lower there nex't week....the last t&t for the season for Martin.

Greg

Iv'e heard of the 9,10 second Supra tt's and see a few of them around, but this is the first chance i have had to line up with one and talk to an owner.

Does anyone know an average time for a stock one,and what they sell for?

There was a red 02 stockL there tonight with an older gentleman that came over to talk shop after running 14.40's.

He was manually shifting, instead of letting the tranny do it's thing

Average cand driver and motor trend times were about 13.7 13.8 if I remember corectly. The first protptype TT they tested in 94 was a ringer which was later admited by a totota spkesperson as being a preproduction prototype model with more power than the 320 horses which made into production. That model had run a 4.6 sec. to 60, but the real subsequent models were in the 5.2 - 5.5 0 -60 times. They quit producing them in 96 due to slow sales along with the 300zx and in 95 for the RX7.

I hear about these 9-10 sec Supras too

The "Highly Modded"Supras that I've seen show up @ the track inevitably run in the 12's. I'm not saying their are no 9-10 sec Supras, I'm only saying I haven't seen them @ the track. The fastest one had BIG Turbos, nitrous, $$$ internal mods, etc, & ran a very good 12.07. Fast, but, way shy of mid 10's. With that said, I like the TT Supra's a lot, good looks, good power, & dependable.

Brasil & ricekicker

I own 2kL and '95 Supra. Brasil, they imported supras through '98 model year 300Zx in '96, and RX7 in '95. Supras continued to be made in Japan with production just now ceasing. I love both vehicles, but no L could ever make 5-600 hp on stock bottom end . There are about 5-6 in Atl that do! Ricekicker, "POS japanese"? Lot of misplaced xenophobia! Fit & finish on any comparably priced ford product is not even close. Even many of Jag products not as well made! a 10 year old Supra goes for about same as new L--if it hasn't been beat to s---! A new Supra in '04 or '05 with either a V6 or even better Lexus V8, rather than Turbos. However expect TRD to offer supercharger, as it currently does for existing V6's or V8's----AND TRD products installed by dealer are fully integrated into factory warranty, including extended TLC ones! How many threads on here about mods voiding Ford's warranty?

Gator,he did not even run again,he was having too much fun watching instead.
I am right at the age were 1/3 of the people in the staging lanes call me sir....and i think it sucks
If i am lucky enough to still be around at 60 or so,i will still be racing....and i will be acting like a young 40 year old or something

Hey ricekicker, not to cause a flame or anything but what do you run? Didnt notice anything in your sig except you kick rice. Though I own a L also, unless you truly kick a 9 or 11 second cars ***, maybe you should show a little respect. I dont think anybodys, 11 second car deserves to be called a POS, no matter who makes it, unless your prejudiced.

There's a white street driven TT Supra in Chicago that runs high 9's. I've seen him do it at a local track. The car is really quiet and you wouldn't think much of it until it takes off. He's financed that car from his street racing winnings
