ABS light it wont go off

ok i got in an accident like a month and a half ago. i was supposed to get my truck back today but the dam abs light is on. they had to do some work on the suspension cause it got all jacked up. and they think its all electrical. so would it be ok to drive the L with the light on and tell them to just release my truck or what? i dont think i can wait any longer!!!

No, make sure they fix it, unless you want to get in another accident. My ABS light came on once (which indicates that the ABS is not working) and it was raining... so I said to myself... hmm, I wonder what this thing's like w/o ABS. So, I mashed the brake to the floor at about 40mph, and immediately the back end started to come around... NOT GOOD... I very quickly let off the brake. I then pulled over, turned the truck off and back on... the light went away, and I haven't seen it since... anyway... make sure the ABS is working!! Good luck.

Recently had the same problem, the rear ABS (wheel speed?) sensor had to be replaced. Fortunately I was just under 30K miles so they covered it under warranty. They must have to remove the rear rotor to replace it, because they offered to change my rear brake pads at the same time for only $180 (I refused). The part they replaced was "Sensor Assembly Rear - Anti-Lock", Part# F85Z*2L373*AB. My L is a '99.

Hope this helps
