Fried tire splatter?

Hey, did a little burnout a few days ago. Having trouble getting the hot tire splatter off my inside lower quarters. A little elbow grease gets some off, but others smear like tar or black bubble gum and some are SUPER hard. Any advice.

Coke....

Or Pepsi...No I am not joking. The acid loosens it up enought to wipe off and it doesn't ruin paint.

WD40 works good. It takes some time to get loose though because it has to soak in. It also does a fine job at removing bugs. That's all I ever use, with a microfiber towel.

They make something called Burn-Out gard. It works great, just put it on before you get the rubber on and it wipes right off.

Raid your pantry and just spray on some PAM. Cheap and it works.

They have this blue gel at Kmart that I use. It's some kind of bug and tar remover, works great. I also use WD40, but hate the oily mess.

Go to a NAPA and ask for "prep solvent"

It's $25 a gallon but it takes everything off paint w/out hurting it. (wax, tar, ect....)

BTW: I just bought a gallon from the napa at novi and Grand River. Not all places stock it.

frgetit,

I had the same problem and once I scraped the rubber off with a bondo spreader and acetone, I put my first coat of Zaino on my truck. The rubber NEVER sticks now. Never!

Geddex Burnout Guard

Spray Geddex Burnout Guard on the body sections you used to scrub. Geddex dries clear and won't harm paint. It becomes a water-soluble layer of protection between hot splaters of tire rubber and the quarter panels of your truck. When you're ready, just rinse down the splattered area with water and wipe away the rubber.
