I was able to download it by right clisk save as then change the extension BACK to wmv
Right before the end a car flips end over end and leaves road passing airborne about 5 feet from a photographer standing next to road. I bet he threw those shorts away ...

WRC is the best thing going. These cars have the most high tech drivetrain in racing. I have been following it since 97'. AWD and 400 hp. What else do you want. These are the most talented drivers in the world.

Absolutely amazing videos. I too watch WRC as often as I can.
Anyone got a hint on how to convert this from WMV to something like AVI so that my Linux laptop will be happy? I want to take this around to work etc.

I too used to do this, not for a real living though.
I was with Volvo for 12 years and SAAB for 12 years mostly in Parts and Accessories management positions. As a died in the wool hotrodder, I managed to finagle getting responsibility to market "Sport & Rally" parts here in the US when I was stationed here (with Volvo, I spent six years outside the US, 2 in Sweden, 2 in Peru and 2 in Canada)
As the resident hot shoe with more ***** than brains, whenever the Swedes were not available to show off their Rallye skills at dealer intro meetings, press days etc. they often let me do the driving both with and without passengers. Never crashed with passengers, the insurance for those affairs was horrendous, but did put a couple of both on their side when alone. Most fun was ice racing which I did a lot of in Sweden and Finland. Second most fun was doing the Andes rally. Second only because the non-professional drivers were really crazy. Mostly very rich Peruvians/Bolivians/Chileans and Ecuatorians who had far more money than brains and machismo up the gazoo. Also, medical care was pretty nonexistent if one got hurt.
Best drivers in my opinion were the Finns. Absolute ice in their veins and they were extremely professional. Hardly ever crashed. Next were the Swedes who were brilliant drivers but seemed to crash rather a lot. Couple of good Brits also.
Sorry for long post, but it is also possible to do a form of this with a Lightning. The Baja run, or whatever it is called nowadays, has quite a number of classes and at least a few years ago I believe had a class for modified 2wd pickups. My boss at the time even ran a Volvo powered dune buggy in the old Baja 1000 in the early 70's. I drove a Volvo 4WD army staff car as a chase car for two of those races.
Ain't nostalgia nice
But at least I legitimized the post as Lightning oriented.

I'll ask Chris if he can export the originals vids to quicktime. Conversion to AVI, or most any format for that matter, is easy.
