EGR valve question
EGR valve question
Is there any benefits plugging the EGR valve? On the other Ford site, there's a few who put a dime in the EGR valve to prevent the exhaust gas from re-entering the intake. Does this increase performance or mileage?
The EGR valve does nothing at idle, and nothing at wide open throttle. Why take it off or plug it just to make the CEL come on.
The egr is only used at part throttle and light load conditions to help emissions by acutally cooling down the combustion chamber. Disabling the egr will actually make the combustion temps higher, that will contribute to a spark knock. That would not be a good thing.

I was doing a search on nitrous last nite when I came upon a post by spiro99svt mentioning doing an egt blockoff plate. Unfortunately, I forgot which of the 40 pages I was reading.
Found it--> https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...hlight=nitrous
Might want to ask him or probably Sal
