1,000th Post - Lightning Journal Treat

Well Guys...I finally reached the 1,000th post Milestone. In celebration of this historic moment...I have decided to include some excerpts from My Lightning's private diary. Shhh...don't tell her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9/1/00 - My new owner bought me today when he moved to MI. Little did he know that he would soon have coolant all over his engine compartment. He he he.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10/15/00 - I got to race a corvette this morning...and haul this hot tub this afternoon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3/4/01 - I got washed and waxed along with the bike and Saleen today. I think I look the prettiest.

5/17/01 - The new SVT Ghetto. My owner would be white trash...but he didn't have a front lawn to put me up onto. I feel naked in this condition.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6/23/01 - On the way home from a friends place, my owner spots some junk on the side of the road and decided to take it home. It's OK because I got to race a WRX m-plate on the way back. It was fun to win hauling furniture.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8/26/01 - Went to a nice BBQ today. I'm not sure what everyone was oo'ing and ahh'ing over that little green british car for. She's not all that. She is a total **** anyway.

10/1/01 - We got to move today. I am now convinced that my owner is definitely white trash. Wine in a box and a hot tub.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10/2/01 - We "break-in" the new house by doing a burnout in the driveway.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11/27/01 - I got to shower with that TT today, thanksgiving, as we went back 'home' to NY. That TT is hot...she wants me.

4/15/02 - Once again nice and clean on a warm day. I think this is my best side.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6/12/02 - I got to tow for my first time, picking up this POS jet ski.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9/11/02 - (Today) Getting Zaino'd in the garage. My, my, my, I look good..if I do say so myself. Not bad for a daily driver that gets used all winter long (stock tires no less) and sits outside every day.

95 Saleen S351.

Nice bike

I have a '98 Vulcan Classic 800, dark green w/ white (under the gas tank), fairing, saddle bags, cobra side steps, drag pipes.

I am a newbie at riding (40 yrs. old). Got my license last Nov. through the Delaware Motor vehicle course for novice riders.
I bought the bike from a Honda dealership (Jan 2002). 2400 orig miles, made the deal for $3800 cash. Not a sratch anywhere! Previous owner upgraded to a 1100 cc Yamaha.
I knew the bike was meant for me, it had a "Don't forget 9/11 NYPD, FDNY" sticker on the fairing! I am a former NY (Long Island, hard "g" on the Long) resident.

95 Saleen S351,

Before I bought the bike, I had a buddy look up the Blue Book price and he told me it was $3700. The Honda Dealership had the bike for sale for $4100. The salesman said that he was not that familiar with Kawis' (they only sold Hondas, Yamahas and Triumphs). I then decided to look up the bike's value. I then found out that there was a Vulcan 800 ($ 3700) and a Vulcan Classic 800 ($4700 in NADA and $5545 in Kelley Blue Book). I went back and made the offer for $3800 and the sales guy took it. After all, it was almost closing and the end of the month (Jan). Since the bike wasn't any of the brands the dealership dealt with, they wanted to move it, fast.
I guess I done good!!!

Thanks 95 Saleen S351
