Installed E-Fan w/ Cobra R pump, WHOHOO!
Installed the E-fan w/ Cobra R pump today. I don't know if it is psychological or not, but it seems to be quite a bit faster, like someone removed 300 - 400 pounds off the truck. The engine seems to rev quicker now too. Just wanted to share my excitement. Hopefully I will be getting my Silver Bullet in about a week.
brasil,
Did the same install this morning. The stock fan is one heavy bastard (regarding rotating mass that is).
Yes, it does rev quicker..

94 degrees here today and barked not only the 1-2 (hard) but chirped the 2-3 shift also... hehehe

Hey Bob , I have a question for you. My neighbor added back to the system without pre mixing in a container first. He added 2 gallons of coolant and about 1 1/2gallons of distilled water ( it got full before he could dump the other 1/2 gallon in). My question is could it damage the system if a exact 50 -50 mixture is not obtained? Should I drain some of the mixture and add the other 1/2 gallon of distilled water? The manual recomends a 50/50 for most climates. It states that a 60/40 mixture should be used in extremely cold temperatures and a 40/60 for extremely hot temps. Here were I live it rarely reaches below 32 degrees in the winter (usually between 45 -55) but the summerrs are really hot like 95 - to 110. What should i do? not worry about it. or remove some of the coolant mixure and add more water?
Thanks
Thanks
brasil,
IMHO, you should be fine with the current mix however draining the radiator is an interesting chore.
question for you. How did you drain the coolant? By loosening the petc-o-c-k on the radiator or removing the plug from the block?

i did mine a month ago
noticed big difference. As for the coolant, i drained my intercooler first, then reailized what the hell was I doing, then i drained the radiator......what a mess, then the block, more of a mess. Ford sure doesn't make it easy to drain fluid out of these trucks. I change my oil, the oil shoots out of the bottom of the pan and almost hist the wheel.
what I would do by the way in order to remove coolant, would be to siphon some out from the top of the radiator reservour, since there isn't too much to remove

brasil,
Once the catch pan was strategically located, I removed the plug form the block then loosened the radiator cap SLOWLY. It emptied the majority of the coolant PDQ. Very little coolant was left when the H2O pump-o was removed.
Roller,
Nice numbers on the Cobra!!!!

brasil,
I did the same mod about a month ago and it made a huge difference. It was one the last ones that I thought would make a big difference. Was I ever wrong??

I have checked it and I haven't noticed any difference.BUT, I have been on the gas pedal alot more.
I have logged every fill up for the last two years. It may be too early to tell. I'll know more in a couple of months after I check the results over time.
