Angry Igot Towed

Well I was driving about 160 Km/h when i noticed the ride was getting a little soggy on the passenger side. The steering was pulling to the right as it usually does, I stoped had a look and the tire was totally phucked. Now this is the second time this has happened.
NOTE

THE SPARE TIRE DOES NOT COME DOWN ON THE LIGHTNINGS IN 2002 TRY IT YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN THIS WAS SUPPOSTO BE FIXED THE FIRST TIME UNDER WARRENTY THE DEALER SAID THEY FIXED IT AND THEY DIDN'T FREEDOM FORD WILL LIE TO YOU EVERY TIME DO NOT USE FREEDOM FORD IN EDMONTON ALBERTA, CANADA.

Now I' am not a person who normally complaines or feels sorry for myself but just to let you know roadside assistance takes care of the vehicle not the occupant(s). That means you will walk home or catch a cab at your expence. This ordeal was a bad expierance for me due to the fact I' am handicaped meaning I can walk for no more than 150-200 feet without a wheelchair.
In conclusion of this little blurb, the moral to this story is DON'T BELIEVE YOUR DEALER THEY ARE OUT TO LIE TO YOU AND GET YOU CHECK ALL THE WORK WARRENTY OR NOT OVER I DIDN'T AND PAID DEARLY. when i dig up the work order I will scan it and post it as well as scan and post the one from Cam Clark Ford were the Lightning is now at and you can compare the dates and see who the liar is.

Bummer...

That really sucks. Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Just so you know: The spare does in fact come down. They are typically stuck up there due to adhesion. Loosen up the lowering pulley (so the thing drops out of the center) then hit the tire. It should fall. After once or twice, it won't stick anymore.

Latest news

I went to airdrie to Cam Clark Ford to get the Lightning I arrived and thd nothing but bad news. Even if I cound get the soare down on the dide of the road it wouldn't of gone on. At the dealer they discovered the factory rim (in depth) is bigger meaning the studs are too long and the spare doesn't fit . When you suck the wheel nuts up tight there is still a 1/4 inch play between the spare rim and the end of the wheel nuts. Therefore, they went into parts and got a bag of ordinary wheel nuts and used those. Now this gets better.
According to the dealership Ford warrenty doesn't cover tire changes, if you call the customer service center you get a different story. The total bill for the time of the mechanic and the wheel nuts was $121.83. I was not willing to pay. in order for them to release the vehicle I had to pay irregardless who said what at Ford, so I paid it with a cheque that will have a stop payment on it first thing Monday morning.

Call Ford and tell them the story and that you're handicapped. I would hope that they would take care of it.

be careful with the check, that can be considered fraud, theft by deception, and a few others.

Ford should cover this since you were unable to drop the spare since it was defective. Call SVT and talk with them about it.

Do you have aftermarket wheels on your L? Thats only reason I can think of for the lugs being too short for the spare.

Do whatever you want, but this is fraud. Doing something like this in Minnesota is a felony. Stopping payment on the cheque is not the way to go about this. Even if they don't take legal action, they'll likely send the check off to a collection agency that'll bug the hell out of you. Unless you wrote on the cheque, something along the lines of "paid under duress", your signature states that you have every intention of honoring it. Stopping payment is just asking for trouble.

If Ford customer service said this was covered, then call them again and work out a way to get reimbursed. I had a similar problem and it worked out.

Checked with R.C.M.P Royal Canadian Mounted Police to confirm your theroy. Canadian law says you can stop payment under the condition of dissatisfaction. I have never had a criminal conviction in my life (except speeding) and yould never do anything to jeprodize myself.
