Anyone having problems going DOHC?

Guys and gals, all you that have done a DOHC swap like me running into oil pressure problems?

Losing oil pressure under boost bad....Can't figure out what the deal is? I've upgraded almost every possible thing I can think of and we're coming up with nothing, Sean Hyland doesn't even know what to think.

Thought I would post this to see what you fellow SVT lightining owners thought.

Truck is fast and suffers no power loss, changed gauges and sensors, still doing the same...

Anyways the DOHC engine is the way to go if you can afford it, I recommend doing like me and running some sort of DFI or PMS system to help iron out all the bugs that will associate this swap, espicall if you want to make awesome power and be fast!

Bill (hdmlnuim) is the only one one these boards that is doing the DOHC swap. He is still waiting on completion of that.

So you have DFI with a chip? How does that work? What trans are you running?

Don't have a suggestion on the loss of oil pressure under boost. You should have 40-50 psi of oil pressure vs 15 psi of boost, so if anything, it might drop slightly if somehow boost was getting to an oil galley passage through a crack or something.

Thanks for some advice!

We removed the Accel Brain and are using one AFM that allows me run that custom diablo sport chip, thats only for street purposes, I load the race program into the brain box with my labtop when we go to the track.

Thats what allows us to run the chip! Once Accel gets there act together and we can build a better program for my set up then I can ditch the AFM brain box and the mass air meter and run all the Gen 7 DFI components.

And you are right red is the fastest! Mine will be Sonic Blue by months end! So maybe Blue will be the fastest, we'll See "JOKING"

Keep'em coming, any advice will be greatful!

Pioneering something like mine takes a bunch of great minds to works together!

I'm confused about the "once accell gets their act togethor" statement, people have been using DFI forever now and he whole deal is its tunability, using a chip defeats the whole purpose of going DFI in the first place. Matter of fact AFAIK you cant even do what your saying with a DFI setup..makes no sense to me but I guess im just stupid like that...

Mind if I ask who installed the DFI?

Did you replace the oil pump and add a billet gear to it?

What pressure are you seeing? Also are you running 5W30 through the heads or not?

Pull the front cover and inspect the pump, are all the bolts tight, is the pump housing cracked, is the pickup sucking air.
