Update on new found power
I also updated my cooling post, but I wanted to seperate it from that post.
Fot those who do not know I all of a sudden found new power after having my coolant system flushed, it turned out it wasn't the cooling system.
Ok guys here is the scoop
I was right that the truck now has much better throttle responce. I was wrong about the cooling system being the reason behind the new power.
It turns out the guy who did the coolant flush forgott to put the throttle body return spring back on.
After some investigation and comparing a friends truck I found the problem. When I went to NJ for the blower install the bracket that holds the throttle cable and the return spring were not lined up with the throttle body. Because of this the throttle was way to firm and it made it feel like I had lost throttle responce.
I have since replaced the spring and adjusted the bracket so everything lines up. My throttle responce is much better now and the gas pedal feels much better.
My Works blower was a very early unit, allmost a pre production unit. Chis has been very helpfull getting the blower working right. He is a great guy and has been very patient. It turns out the bracket being mis alligned was giving me false feedback on what it was doing. I would try to explain things to him, but being accross country made it tough.
It was a good mistake that the guy who flushed my coolant system left the spring off, because that helped me figure out the problem. It is amazing something miss alligned just a tad can make such a differance.
Here are two pics of what it took to fix the throttle linkage. 30 cents worh of washers and turning one screw around.

Everything lined up A OK

Don, glad to see you got it straightened out! Was that bracket bolted down right to the power steering bracket? That stud you have going through your washers and bracket is supposed to be bolted to the PS bracket first, then the TB bracket slips over the stud sticking up (to space it up just like you did) and then a nut goes on top to hold it there. Just FYI.
Don-
Thats strange! I've got one of the same vintage kits that you have, and I don't have any alignment issues.
Everything bolted up just fine...
I think the throttle body goblins have gotten to your truck during the night some time

So I unscrewed the whole stud and added the washers. It now sits 1/4 of a inch higher than it did before. I then bent the bracket a little to get the front of the spring a little higher. Now the spring is level.
If you look at this before pic you can see the angle the spring was before

I just wanted everyone to know there wasn't a problem with the blower, it was just the throttle cable and return spring needed a little allignment.
