new fuel filter, makes L feel GREAT again!

i've got almost 11k on my 01 now. i was going to wait until the next oil change which is 3k away (changed over the weekend) but, i said screw it.

so at work today (ford service) i bought it, went to my local auto parks store, picked up the remove tool, and started.

i have to say its a little easier on a lift, but the gas in my eye wasn't bad haha, next time i'm wearing glasses.

took it out after the change, feels like it has all the power it should have now.

i'm going to do it every oil change now, i'd suggest the same to all of you.

sounds like it worked. The people I've talked to say ah, every 30k miles, but I replaced mine at 22k and the truck seems to start better. I will prob start replacing mine every 6k miles or so.

Ford manual says every 15k... but they don't really seem to keep up that long. They tend to last ~ 11-12k. So I change mine every 3d oil change which is every 9,000miles.

So it really made a noticable difference after only 11K miles? I have 13K on mine and I just purchased a filter from Ford yesterday for $16. I plan on installing it today, hopefully I will also notice a difference.

So did you use the inertia switch or pull the fuel pump fuse? Where is the inertia switch anyway?

BTW, I found a really nice METAL fuel line tool at Discount Auto Parts. Cost was about $3.

Almost 26,000 miles, never changed the fuel filter. Don't have any starting problems, hesitation, idle problems, loss of power, etc. etc. Hmmm, maybe I get "cleaner" fuel.

FWIW, I was planning on changing the filter this weekend.
