I am in the process of selling my L. This morning i wired the money and am in the process of waiting for the title to complete the sale. I have someone buying it and we are just waiting for the title to complete sale. Is there a legal way we can exchange the truck/money and then just sign it over to him when i get the title. Or do i have to have the title to make it legal. I just figured that there must be a way to do the sale and the signing of the title could be done when i recieve it. Just trying to figure out if we had to wait or not. Thaqnks for the help.

Well, he can't register it without the title. If you bought the truck, you should have a title with a lein printed on it, and your credit company can give you a form saying you satisfied the lein and with that he can register it. If you leased the truck, you'll have to wait for the title to come to sell the truck.

i just went through the same thing with one of my trucks. i printed up a "contract" that we both signed and had 2 witnesses sign, stating that the truck was his responsibility and he would recieve the title when it was sent to me. i dont know what the issue is w/ liscense plates where you live, but i took mine off the truck and had him go to the DMV to get a 30 day tag to drive on while we waited for the title. i didnt want any mysterious tickets on my registration. it only took 6 days to get the title
