what are the first signs of tranny going out???
i have noticed that my tranny seems to be losing its firmness and it doesnt shift consistently when wot. running 20 and hitting it it will shift round 5400-5500 nearly everytime. however when coming off the line for a stop it shifts nearly everytime at 58-5900 i have seen it touch 6000! i am worried the clutch pack are going out. if this is the case how much is a good transmission and will it hold alot of hp and torque. im hoping to be putting out 500-550 rwhp and over 600 tq to the wheels with my new motor and everything. also how much $$$$$ is per say level 10 and are these trannies still like the stock ones u know shifting smoothly.
thanks

Don't waste your time and money on a level ten tranny. lots of guys have bought those with horrible results.
If you want the best there is then buy a factory tech monster box from greg evens. His tranny's are pretty much bullet proof up to around 900+ HP and TRQ. More then any gen 2 know can handle.
For a completely rebuilt tranny with your old tranny trade in its about 1700 bucks for a fully loaded and ready to rock and roll box. Greg is a great guy to deal with if anything goes wrong at all.
I'll put the title on my truck up against that level 10 crap. I've heard some bad stories from guys on this site. Don't worry you'll hear some tomorrow I'm sure. Don should have a nice one for you.
I've gone threw 2 stock trannies and I have a monster box now and I love it. Shifts are socrisp and hard when you get on it but there nice when your just cruising around also.
GREG's the man.
You should also get a converter while your at it, so figure around 1000 for the best converter out there. A Precision Industries 2600 stall is the only way to go.

Hmm, let me add that to my Upcoming Mod List, thanks all.
And $1700.00 with a trade in is probaly cheaper than having a local shop screw it up bringing it back to stock. Good Info, thanks Killa

thanks killa. how do i get in touch with this guy greg. round about how long did it take to get one or does he have em ready to ship??? is what i described the first signs of tranny heading south for the winter???
thanks for everything
thanks for everything
Some tuners may have some ready to shift but I beleive Greg builds them from the stock core. Meaning you send him your stock tranny and he rebuilds it. Unless he's got extra cores lying around which I'm sure he sometimes does.
