I was outside washing my Lightning this evening, when a guy drives by with a white V6 Mustang, stereo thumping. He sounded like he was revving -really- high... like going 25 or 30 in 1st gear... heh. Sounded like he had a supercharger (why?). Oh... he had fart exhaust (on a mustang!), one of the body kits that makes it look euro/asian, and a huge wing. He dropped it in neutral, gave me a couple of whiney revs, and a thumbs up, and squealed off... He was paying his respects to The Monster, I guess... just goes to show you. What? I don't know... Oh! Rice isn't all civics and integras.
And eoreilly is right... most of the guys I know the raised trucks with the loud flowmasters think of our trucks as little weenie race-boy things too... But they do respect the speed... heh.
All a mater of perspective.

 

Your points are well taken, I know there is a lot of rice out there but not all imports are rice.

I know you cant compare a car to a Lightning but my point was....some of that rice in the movie would destroy a Lightning. Hence why would it be rice if it is actually fast and not just "looks fast" Also I have seen guys on here saying they beat up on a Civic or whatever how can you compare a 5.4 liter SC Truck to a 1.6 Liter NA Car? I dont want to get into a big arguement over this cuz sometimes I actually like it when people think my car is rice.... cuz they will be in for a big suprise

 

I've seen Lightnings on this board that I consider ricey....

but...most of the cars in fast and fake were extremely ricey. Random graphics...huge wings...fart pipes...random splashes of yellow everywhere.

My favorite part in the (slow and the curious) is the import with a
3 or 4 stage N2O.If that was anywhere reality the would have to go behind that car with a shop vac picking up parts.Hats off to the imports that can run...But most dont,taking a polished pork and bean can and welding it to an exhaust pipe,with a wing wider than my truck doesnt make it fast.Just my 0.2.F.Y.I.Any wing the size these guys use on there imports wouldnt be effective until about 150mph or so.

 

it's all relative to what your definition of "RICE" is.......It pretty obvious everyone's here is different..kinda like that saying .. "opinions are like ... ....'s everyone's got one "

 

I always thought "Rice" meant that the car was from Japan

So cars like Ferrari's and Porsche's are imports but are not Rice

I always make fun of my bro. telling him that his BMW 5 is rice. But its really a nice car you just cant find mods for a BMW that arent rice.

 

did you guys no that all the imports on Fast and Furious... they all ran low 16's except for the s2000 which was all stock except for exhaust!

I saw an article... they all had exhuast, intake... and color stuff all over.

they were all slow.

 

The only import in the whole movie that was worth talking about was the Supra at the end.
BUT what's funny is that it was a 10 sec car right.?
I would like to see a 10 sec car run it with a 1 wheel peel and street tires.

Anyone who knows anything about cars knew the movie should have been called

It's funny how the fastest car in the whole movie was the only one that didn't race... (the Lightning) lol

The other funny part was when Usher first looked under the hood of the Guido green Eclipse the first thing he said was "damn this car his more nitrous than anything." What I want to know is how the hell did he know how much nitrous he was running? DId he disconnect the nitrous nozzles? hehe

The thing that was funny to me we all seem to be overlooking..was the end...All the supras..Hond's...etc etc..

Actually sorry your wrong on this one.
The Supra may have looked ricey but was pushing over 600 rwhp. The guys that rebuilt my motor the first time are very good friends with the ex owner of the car Craig Lieberman (it was sold after the movie came out) Their actually in the same car club. The Yellow Skyline was turbo also and those arent push-overs.
Ther Green Eclipse was rice he had I/H/E and some heavy stereo equipment, the Jetta same mods, the red Integra that Ja Rule was in, same thing no turbo or anything.

I do agree the movie was cheesey and fake, but arent most movies fake, unless its a documentary. Like I've been saying all alone some cars are rice some are not, but when someone says "oh your cars rice" just cuz its an import sorry to me that is being ignorant. So whats the word we use for domestics?? Cracker...Oatmeal?? C'mon everyone has their own taste we cant all be alike, how much would that suck, you pull up to a light and the guy next to you has the same mods, lowering, rims etc.. I know that would **** me off.

mmmmMMmmm, Dodge charger with bigass blower, sure was a pretty car better then any of those raced ones. FOr those who've seen blade 1 and 2 know that the best car is dodge charger I think all of us Lightning owners should sign a petition stating that fast and furious 2 SHall and will have a Lightning in it for racing! Hopefully tehy'll fork over cash for a 32-valver, new blower and a little NAWZ. the movie would be watch by me many times if so !
