OK guys, I am new to this board so I dont know if yall have covered this lately. But here goes. When will the 2003 Lightning Be available. I am really in the market for a new truck and don't want to waste my money on a regular F150. I WANT A LIGHTNING! A 2003 SONIC BLUE LIGHTNING! If anybody could help with this, I would appreciate it.

I spoke to the people at SVt and told me that orders should start to be taken in September with the production starting sometime in november. Expect to see the L in the showroom in December/January.

I don't think sonic blue is an available color in the 2003, but I may be wrong on that :dunno:

I am sure that someone will correct me. I know that silver is not available in 2003

Anybody hear whether we'll be able to chip the 03L computer. I heard that the computer was going to be sealed with no place to add a chip???

I am thinking about trading the 01 for an 03. Either an 03 Red(the color I have now) or Sonic blue.

I'm thinking about trading in my 01' for an 03' Dark Shadow Grey one, just thinking of it makes me drool.

 

I overheard people at a local dealership say they had already taken orders on 03 Lightnings. You'd better call around and check, or you'll be at the end of the line!!

They may be taking orders but they sure as hell aren't sending them in.

 

No problem. Not trying to brag, but my local dealer said I could buy a new 03 under the X-plan. I told him to order me a Sonic Blue one.

I can't get the first couple of L's to arrive at the dealer, he get's sticker and sometimes a little more when they first hit the showrooms. I'm in line for the third L to arrive.

Just caught that, I get the third L at my dealer and it's a 03. Cool..

If I can't chip it, I'll stick with my 01 Red L.

 

I work at a dealer, but we can't order them yet. Believe me I ask EVERY day! I will get the first (or second) one that we get because I am ordering two, one red and one sonic blue. Because I can't decide yet (without seeing them in person) which color I want.

I can't wait.

I ordered Sonic Blue, but I may get a Red one again. My choice is between a Sonic Blue or Red one. I can't decide either. I'm trying to get my dealer to order a Red and Sonic Blue for the first few L's that show up at the dealer so I can decide which color.

Last time I bought my L, I changed it from Black to Red and the dealer called Ford to change the color. It took me an extra 4 weeks to get the L. The dealer called the factory and he couldn't get Ford to change the color on the first one I had ordered. I had to pick the next one to arrive and change it's color. After the dealer orders his allotment of L's, He gets build dates for all of them. He can't change when they will show up, but if it's 4 - 6 weeks before they arrive, He can change the color.

The dealer said the first one would be Red and I could check it out and then order what color I want. The sooner I decide what color I want the faster I'll be able to get it from my dealer.

I like my Red L, but so does the police radar. Sonic Blue is a little loud, but it doesn't scream..Give me a ticket please, Like my Red one.

Good luck with your color choice, all the L colors look good, it's a tough decision.

 

I left a deposit on a Dark Shadow Gray '03 L several weeks ago. I recently spoke with the dealer who said the order was placed and gave me the order number.
Production on the '03's is scheduled to begin during the first week of November.
