Question White-grey deposits on spark plug?

The front passenger plug is the only one out of the eight that has a thick buildup of whitish deposits.

This page,
http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinf...q/faqread2.asp
says that it is due to an oil leak....... (pobably not operating duration or bad fuel.........)

It looks like the picture of the "Deposits" example:

How can this be fixed, and will it continue to happen with the new plugs? Is this common?

I thought oil would leave them really black and wet. You could have a bad valve seal or something man, I dont know for sure but I will help keep this at the top so somebody can help you!!

Tuners? Techs? Anyone know whats causing this???

Is it the valve seals ? Injector? Coil pack?

How much would this cost to fix? At least its the easiest plug to get to so I could clean it as often as needed............

(Had written a reply, then re-read that you had a modified L -- for which I don't have experience.)

misfire

that ususally means either the plug is misfiring or the coil pack is not functioning properly. If they all seem like that it may be a lean condition, but i would throw a new plug in it, run it at idle, and pull the wire from the coil pack, see if the engine sounds and runs different, then plug it back in and see what happens, I bet it's either a plug or c/p. Good luck.

Do you use the same gas all the time? Have you added any oct. boosters, etc. to your fuel? Those look like fuel deposits and/or a non-firing plug.....???

I really hope its just the plug misfireing, or even the coil pack........just so long as its not anything internal.............

No fuel additives ever, and I always use Chevron Premium.

tallimeca: When i pull the coil pack plug........if it sounds different.......does that mean the coil is good? And if it sounds the same w/o it plugged in, that means its a bad coil pack? or bad plug?

correct

no difference, means no good. I had a number 8 go a few weeks ago. Unbelievable how much 1 cylinder can ruin your fun!!

***Also, this condition can also be caused by detonation, or refered to as "pinging". What do you have for mods. If you have a pulley, make sure your chip is tuned for it. If your chip is tunned for it, listen for the pinging at all rpm's, if you hear it , make sure you are running 93, duh, and if so, talk to your tuner.
