Talking In CloneTeks honor...

The required bling-bling "I have a pile of cash lying around" money shots:

I'm picking up my second car tomorrow (the "all weather" vehcile), so I have the payment for it lying around a bit...funny thing is the bank was "out of 100s", so they gave me it all in 50s. lol.

The "beater" car is a 1993 Cadillac STS w/62k miles on it. ~300ish HP/Tq....should be alright. :) It was a tough choice over the '98 Lexus GS400, but I knew if I got the GS that I'd want to mod it...theres not much of an aftermarket for the Northstar, so I figure I'm a little safer. ;)

Daniel,
That is too funny, I can remember when Brooks did that.

Yeah, one of the reasons I picked it. Only the GS400 was faster then in in the pre<2000 sedans.

There is a supercharger for it, but I think I'll pass at the moment. All the other mods for it are small potatoes besides the obligatory stereo I must add.

Supercharger for the Northstar is outrageously priced. I have a buddy who works at a Cadillac dealer here in Memphis and he said they supercharged an Escalade for an extra 9K. Granted this guy is an NBA player and can afford it, but D#@*!!! Oh yeah, the Escalade is now putting out 450RWHP.

Just for note, 4 spark plugs on this big block are just as hard to change as our truck...you have to remove the strut tower bar, and the distributor packs to get to them... hehe... Guess thats why they made it the 100k-mi tune-up car. ;)

It looks good hooked up to the camper. Now all you need to do is get an old man hat and move to Florida

Nice car Daniel. I've worked on a few used ones when I was at the dealer. From what I can remember, they drive really nice and have gobs of power. Also, oil changes suck, because the filter is mounted upside down, and often you have problems getting the new oil to prime in the motor. Oh and that nice LED 3rd brake light, is over $300 if you need to change it.

lol...thx. :P Surprisingly, most of the ones on Ebay are from Florida, and this one was from an old man. lol.... I picked it more so that it was the fastest 4-door sedan after the GS400 in < yr2000 for under $10k. :) Unfortunately, the '95 is the quicker one (6.4 0-60, 14.7 1/4), but the 93 isn't too shabby, 7.2 0-60 and 15.4 1/4mi...the STS has the L37 engine:

There's a few basic mods I can do to drag it down to 6.5's and mid 14's that I've found (airbox, exhaust swap, etc)... so I'll probably to that, tint it out and drop some 17's on it...it should look like less of a fogie car then. :) Trying to figure out what to do about the radio..

I already found a place that will repair the LED light for less should it break. :) [I'm a research ***** when I come to buy things]
