Amp locations?

Well I broke down and purchased an AMP for the 4 new speakers im installing (didnt want to go w/a new head unit)

So anyway, curious as to where people have mounted their amps? I have to run 8 wires to and from the head unit to the amp. Plus the power cables, somewhere in the front of the truck would be ideal but i have a feeling that wont happen

thanx in advance

get 2 power link II's

http://www.linkmeup.com/

then go to PL2

They will allow you to go from speeker output to rca inputs to the amp.

Mount the amp under the passenger seat. You can run all the wires under the carpet and you won't see anything.

Under the center console. Of course this will only work with the seat conversion/Expy console.

I put mine under the passenger seat. You just half to remove the jack. It depends on how big your amp is. Mine is a 5 channel so I couldn't put it any where else (I have a thunderform) without building a frame. All the pics I've seen posted have had framing done.

I've replaced the head unit, but I still had to deal with the amp location issue.

I removed the stock jack bracket and put all the parts in a nylon zip bag. The bag is strapped to the bottom front of the passenger seat, with the stock threaded stud as the anchoring point.

I have a JL250/1 under the driver's seat, a JL 300/4 under the passenger seat, an Alpine CHA-S624 6CD changer and an Alpine XM tuner under the center section of the seat. Everything just fits with less than 1/2" clearance. An MTX Thunderform rounds out the rear. The cables to the headunit are all wrapped in a sheath and taped to the Dynamat Extreme under the carpet.

Arrow seats

I have amps under both seats. They fit & work fine. No problems, don't be worried about pulling seats to do it.

I put my 2 amps in the floorboard angled up right in front of the middle seat. I had a custom molding made around both ends of it to hide the wires and they were then ran back to the speakers. It's a pretty neat little setup.

i have seen amps mounted to the wall behind the seat under the rear sliding window, it looks good if your not trying to hide it

Wink

Mine are rate against the back wall, they are both mounted off of the custom box that hold 2 JL 10w3's. So there is nothing screwed to the back wall.
