How much lower is the Lightning??

How much lower is the lightning than a stock F150 4X2? I ask because I am looking into these springs. Click Me What do you think? I want it lowered in the front around 1-2 inches and in the back around 3-4 inches. Thanks for the help.

Oh and will these springs fit my 02 Lightning???

I believe that the consensus states that an F-150 lowering kit will net about 1" less of a drop on the Lightning. (ie - 3" front drop = 2" front drop on the L.)

However, be careful about spring rates, etc - lower will always LOOK the same, but it may not handle better. If the spring rate is softer, you could be really hurting your L's performance, especially with the stock shocks. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the reply. So you are saying that is I were to get a lowering that lowers a regular F150 3", than it would lower the Lightning 2", Right?

Also can you tell me if the coil springs for a regular f150 and a lightning are interchangeable? Thanks

What is the spring rate on an 02 Lightning? I guess 700-750, due to its size and mass.

Yes, that's correct. The springs are interchangeable. I'm not sure what the factory spring rate is, but it's listed in the full brochure.

if I lower the truck in the front 1" what should I use in the back? I was thinking a Belltech 2in Drop Shackle. Opinions please?

Definately. Dropping the back 2", and the front 1" would keep a VERY slight rake. It should look pretty good.

Best case scenario would be the Hotchkis leaf springs, but, obviously, if you're looking at these springs on ebay, they're a little out of the price range.
