First of all, Jerry Wobloski (sp?) is without doubt one of the best FORD EEC tuners in the world. Bar none. What the man does for automatic tranny programs, and the Mustang world, is not duplicated by any other tuner around.

Secondly, don't judge a person by their website. If that were the case, half the people here who have websites, would be considered half-crocked. I think JDM's site sucks, that doesn't mean he can't do what he does for a living.

Judge by their abilities to tune, not the stupid things.

If hes so great why arent you running his chip then . Re-read my post i said my opinion. I only said that as joking, of course i know that most of the people who do the tuning dont make the websites. But i for one wouldnt put a chip on my truck that isnt from one of the big tuners that has years of testing and tuning behind their programs. Again just my opinion.

Well, Here is my 2 cents worth. I have herd nothing but good things about Jerry's tuning, and if you go and do your research, he is considered one of the best in the bussiness. Call Patrick at Diablo or Jay at superchips and they will tell you. As far as a Big Tuner?? Someone please expalin how it gets any bigger than the guy that designs these EEC units for Ford?? I know JDM, PSP, and all Diablo venders make great chips for these EEC units, but I would bet they do not know the hardware/software in these units as good as the guys that designed and built them.

02 Thunder and collins8 - you are 100% correct on Jerry's tuning abilities.

I bought a CustomChip last year for my '98 4.6 that had the pinging problem. CustomChip used Jerry's programming. I had it burned for 87 octane and the results speak for themselves - no pinging, superb tranny shifting and what I didn't expect was an increase in power since it was an 87 octane program!

Just as CustomChip was going out of business, Dennis Reinhart picked things up and has gained a great reputation on the mustang and crown vic boards for burning chips. My understanding is that Dennis uses a lot of Jerry's code in burning his chips.

If you are looking for a good chip and want to read feedback first, do a search on the crown vic and mustang forums.

Ummmm Last time i checked this was a LIGHTNING BOARD . You guys are comparing apples to oranges here you keep bringing up that he is an awesome crown vic/mustang tuner. Well im not doubting that nor was i talking about mustangs and crown vics. I was talking about Lightnings and to my knowledge since i have been here since 00 he isnt a name in the Lightning Tunning Business. So when i said big tuners i meant for the Lightning ironic right since this is a Lightning board . Like i said my opinion.

This thread is destined to get ugly, and I really don't want to get into a "who's better" tuning war, but I would like to point out one thing-- Jerry is a great tuner, without a doubt, his abilities far exceede most. However, Jerry was a head transmission calibrator at Ford, he did NOT "design" the EEC box. There's a big difference between a software calibrator and a hardware engineer.

BadAzz516 - my apologies for posting non-lightning content on the Lightning Board. I forgot that I switched over to this forum and thought I was repsonding to a post in the Engine section.

I have banned myself from ever posting here again!

Yeah, he must be right since the Mod motor began its life in the Lightning, right?

DOH! thats right it didn't... Lightnings, Mustangs, Crown Vics, Mark VIII's, etc all share a platform. So open your eyes, Lightnings are using parts that cross all these platforms. I am sorry if that lowers your opinion of the almighty Lightning. But theres alot of relevant info from the Modular Community that can/does/will work on the Lightning. But you won't realize that, if you use the assinine "This Is A Lightning Board" banter!

But, thats Just My Opinion...

InjecTech made an alright chip a while back, I'm sure it would still be pretty good.

Whenever I devirgin my truck though, I've already got my man in mind.
