Power Mods
Power Mods
Well the time has come to upgrade, I currently have:
PSP CHIP
PSP FILTER KIT
PSP FASTAIR
90MM UPGRADE
4#Lower Pulley
Line Valve Mod
160 Degree Thermostat
I sent my upper intake to get Extrude Honed, so that I will be getting soon. With this in mind, I am caught between which mods to do next, heres what I have been thinking:
3.73 Gears $200 +$200 installed
Torque Converter $600 (Can I do it myself?)
Electric Fan Kit/cobra R $450
Throttle Body $400
Are 3.73's worth it? Will I get better highway "punch"?
Can I remove the torque converter easily (2-3 hrs work)?
Do you think that the extrude hone will be less effective w/o a higher flow t-body?
Thanks for your help,
-Jeff

Well, here's my opinion. Since you've already extrude honed the upper intake, you'll see MORE of a gain from the oval t/b, since the factory t/b is now where the restriction is.
Really, though, you're talking about a similar gain from each thing you have listed there - except the torque converter. That would yield the best gains, in ET. Everything else MIGHT get you 5hp individually, and the gears will get you a faster 60ft, if running slicks, but why not just go for 4.10's in that case?
Also - what torque converter can you get for $600? From reading these boards - avoid the Art Carr....
You won't notice a significant highway difference with 3.73's.
You could probably do the torque converter yourself, if you have mechanical experience.
The t/b would be a perfect match to the extrude honed intake. The intake should have come AFTER the t/b, IMHO.
