Traction Mods
Traction Mods
At my local (crappy) track the best I can muster is low 2.1's in the 60 foot, but I am getting better.
I decided that I was going to address my traction issue, but I dont feel like going with slicks/drag radials. So where else do I come but to you of course
I decided the next mods I should get are these:
Cal-tracs/lift-bars
2" rear drop shackle
Bilsteins (or wait for 2003 to checkout the new shocks)
What is everyones opinion of caltracs or liftbars?
Which is "better"?
Thats about all I can do to better my 60 ft. huh? Your input is appreciated and thanks in advance,
-Jeff

And the slicks are cheaper

if you have an aluminum driveshaft and run drag tires, traction devices (and a loop) are a must-do IMHO.
I've seen too many driveshafts snap.

Jeff, my Truck-Traks are designed for street/strip driving. They do not have to be readjusted when you go to the track, so they will always be effective. Also, they won't effect the ride of the truck in daily driving.
If you have an 99'or 00, leave those shocks on the rear. You want to have a little softer shock there anyway. I'd put the Bilsteins on the front. They do a better job on the front than the earlier shocks. the Bilsteins will halp provide a little lift also, sinse ther are a high pressure, monotube design.
