Has anyone tried the California Car Duster

Has anyone tried that California car duster? My friend has it and it seems pretty good. It says it wont scratch paint and i was wondering if anyone used it and got any scratches. Info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Car Duster

They work great on garaged vehicles with just dust on them! High humidiity and cars that sit out over night they tend to smear. Work great for removing dust after waxing. For the money they are a good thing. Also you can dust the inside of the house in minutes with them. Makes points with the wife so she won't be upset when spending money on Lightning toys. Skip

It won't scratch the paint. You'll probably put more swirl marks in you clear coat by forgetting to use a different wash pad between the bottom and the top of your truck... or buffing with towels that have polyester/nylon stitching... or drying a car that's not completely clean with the same towel...

It's great for the day after the wash when dust starts to collect. But it's just that - a duster. Just make sure you tap it often to get any loose particles, especially if you drop it.

I use one all the time, just make sure the car/truck is cool. Usually if the car/truck has been sitting in the sun it does tend to smear, there is some type of wax or whatever on it to collect the dust.

Thumbs up

My dad and I have been using California Car Dusters for almost 10 or 12 years on his antique cars. It's the only way to go. You wouldn't believe how much dust can settle on your car in your garage just overnight.

It leaves scratches on my black paint, I don't use it anymore.

I've never used it on a black vehicle before. But every time before I use mine I shake it out real good and run it several times over my hand to knock out any big particles it may have picked up. (Like pollen strands)

When I had a white vette, it worked great, but a friend of mine with a black vette had nothing but problems with it. He said it left smears all over. It works well on my red truck, but only for garage dust. I'm afraid to use it on abrasive road dust. I've seen guys using them on show cars with VERY EXPENSIVE paint jobs, and they love em.

My $0.02

Works great in the dry and dusty Colorado climate. Won't scratch a waxed vehicle. I keep mine in the L.

Worked great on my black '00. No problems. Just remember it doesn't clean just removes DUST. Nothing else. I would wax my black '00 and an hour later it had pollen all over it. Used the duster and was beautiful.. Works best on garaged vehicles, like my Charger.

I've used it for many years as well, and on lots of black vehicles too. I use it for car shows, and at the track. It's great for removing dirty dust, or waxing dust. You just need to glide over the paint lightly. It will scratch if you press it onto the paint, if you don't have a good coat of wax on, or if you are trying to remove DIRT as opposed to dust.

works great on my black 00 HD truck. Doesn't smear or anything. You need to leave it sit on a newspaper for a few days to let teh excess wax residue come off, and then it won't streak. and don't use too much pressure when wiping down the truck and shake it often. works great.
