Added Fee's on X Plan?

I'm in the process of buying a '02 Mustang GT 5 speed for a work vehicle and going to buy it using the X plan. I think I've read previously that the documentary fee is not applicable. Is this correct? They are also charging $56 for vehicle inventory tax. Is this correct?

By the way, there's a $2000 rebate on Mustangs till 9/30/02 in case anyone is interested.

correct, they can't charge you document fee, I dont know about that inventory fee, that sounds like a crock they have at the dealership, tell them to wave it or you'll go somewhere else, anyone sells xplan mustangs

I know they can't charge you document fee, but as Zman stated, not sure about inventory fee. 56$ isnt much, if they say you gotta pay it, might as well just pay it and save yourself the hassle!

So, it appears the Doc Fee they are trying to charge you is bogus. The "Vehicle Inventory Tax" is a euphemism for what, I wonder? Sounds like some local or state fee for the vehicle being in their inventory or a bank financing fee of some sort. I'm just guessing, but this also sounds like BS. If I'm not mistaken, Ford reimburses dealerships somehow for financing charges while vehicle sits on a dealer's lot. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Bottom lline is this get a full explanation for this fee. Seems there would be NO reason why YOU should have to pay it.

When I bought my L with X Plan in May, there was none of this BS. Agreed upon a prince over the phone and told them if it varied even $.01 from what we discussed, I was outta there. No windshield etching crap or any of the bogus fees some of these places try to foist on buyers. They honored the price to the penny.

Lots of dealers will do X Plan; if they balk, WALK!

Talked to the finance manager about the documentary fee and he agreed to delete the fee. "Apparantly" no one told him this was an X plan purchase. Should get the car tomorrow. By the way, there is no comparison to the power of the L vs. the GT on a roll out.
