Transmission Cooler Questions?

Transmission Cooler Filter Questions?
I have a Ford in-line cooler filter for my transmission and my question is how do I know which cooler line is the return? The instructions say that it flows towards the tranny in the the the cooler return. And does anyone who's done it before , does the flow test serve a purpose? If so how's that accomplished? Thanks for any help.

has anybody tried the stuff you see on the counters at the auto parts stores in a L tranny? Does it cool it down like it claims?Suppose to 30 degress. I saw this and wonderd if it was worth my while.
