not trying to slam any newbies, but I was at the track tonight with my stang and I was talking to a couple of lightning guys there. one black '01 and one silver 99 or 00. very nice guys and all, but both trucks were running 14.50s??? I don't know what the problem was except that they were both bone stock and it was at or above 100degrees here today.

but anyway, one of the guys says to me, yeah i'm gonna get this thing running 10's.

Now I'm thinking to myself he should try to get it running 13's first like it is supposed to stock and then we'll talk about 10's.

so I ask him mods that they are considering and they both say "a whole big list" thats fine, don't we all have a whole big list

but anyway, the silver truck guy is going to get some 4.10 gears first?

I say how about a chip, he says, yeah, maybe I ought to get one of those, do they work?

so anyway, I tell him yes, and that 10 seconds is pretty fast,

so he tells me that he has heard of some L's running 10's.

I tell him that I've heard that too.

I ask him who was going to put the roll cage in for him, and he says he hadn't thought about needing a cage.

so I said good luck and then watched him get beat by a honda civic.

sad but true.

Well, I guess at school on monday that Honda Civic owner will be letting all his ricer groupee's know that he beat a Lightning! Hahaha!

I can tell you how hard it was to get into the 11's and these guys think they are going to run in the 10's ROTFL

 

I'll settle for mid to hi 12's and I won't get that piece of paper til it's nice and cool and I know I can hook up. Congradulations Don on your 11's, Thats a hard goal to reach, and you achieved it. I may attempt it some day if a few thousand fall in my lap, "and a new Supercharger". Look what Johnny's been through to be on the 10 second door step. I'm glad he got beat from a Honda and ran 14's. It sounds like he doesn't know anything about his L or available Mod's. And going by what you said, he's talking-out-his-***.
